Tomorrow I'm sitting down with .samantha.nd — Naturopathic Doctor, somatic experiencing therapist, and breathwork facilitator — for a live talk I've been really looking forward to.

This talk is for the mom who feels stretched thin. Who wants to feel calmer — not just for herself, but for her kids too. Who keeps meaning to slow down but doesn't know how.

Here's what we're covering:

1. Why your nervous system feels on-edge, stretched and drained — and what's happening in your body when it does.
2. Simple practices you can do in under ten minutes, even on a busy day.
3. How your regulation directly affects your child's — and how to regulate together.

We'll also do a guided practice together, live. So you'll leave feeling different, not just informed.

This talk is for Four Rivers Village members. If you've been thinking about joining the Village — this is a beautiful reason to come in. Membership is $10/month, and this Wednesday's live talk is just one of the things waiting for you inside.

“Your labs are normal.”

But you still feel exhausted, foggy, anxious, inflamed, or just not like yourself.

Here’s what many people don’t realize: standard lab reference ranges are designed to identify diagnosable disease based on population averages. They can tell us whether something is clinically abnormal—but they don’t always tell us whether your body is functioning optimally.
There’s a big difference between being “not sick” and truly thriving.

This is where naturopathic doctors can provide valuable insight. By looking at your symptoms alongside your lab work, they help assess function, identify patterns, and uncover potential imbalances that may not show up as a diagnosis but can still impact how you feel every day.
Because normal labs don’t always mean optimal health.

I've been sitting with this thought a lot lately.

I wouldn't have chosen the hard seasons. Not one of them.

But I can see now — slowly, imperfectly — how they shaped me. How they cracked me open in ways that made room for something new.

The version of me that exists today, the work I do, the way I show up for my son and for the mothers I work with — none of it would exist without the hardest years of my life.

That doesn't make the hard parts easier while you're in them. I want to be clear about that.

And if you're deep in it right now — not looking for lessons, no silver linings, just trying to get through the day — that's okay too.

Right now, you don't have to see anything beyond today. That's allowed.

🌿 What has a hard season taught you — even unexpectedly?

This Saturday marks 3 years since my husband died unexpectedly.
There are still days it feels impossible. There are also days filled with joy, laughter, and hope again. Both can exist at the same time. Sharing this for anyone quietly surviving something heavy right now — you are not alone. 🤍

One of the most common things I see in my practice:

A mom comes in convinced something is wrong with her hormones.

And yes — sometimes there is. But more often? Her nervous system has been in survival mode for so long, her body has started treating the stress as permanent.

Cortisol patterns shift. Sleep quality drops. Mood becomes unpredictable. Motivation disappears.

This isn't just burnout. It's a physiological response to chronic overload.

The good news: it's reversible. But it takes more than a bubble bath.

If this sounds familiar — I'd love to have you inside Four Rivers Village. This is exactly what we go deep on every month. Link in bio.

I say this to my patients a lot. And I mean it clinically — not as a motivational poster.

A nervous system that never gets to downshift can't heal. Can't digest well. Can't regulate mood. Can't sleep deeply even when it has the chance.

Rest isn't laziness. It's medicine.

You're allowed to start there.

What would 10 minutes of real rest look like for you today? I'm genuinely curious — drop it below. 💬

There are so many versions of me that have loved inside this one word: Mother.

Over the years, I’ve held different titles — each one stretching me, softening me, and shaping who I am today.

Stepmom.
Co-parenting mom.
Widowed mom.
Single mom.
Stay-at-home mom.
Working mom.
Mompreneur.
And many more.

These titles don’t define our worth, but they do tell a piece of our story.

I’d love to know — what titles are you holding in motherhood right now?
Share in the comments so we can honor the many paths that brought us here. 💜
