Every morning, before the world asks anything of me, I sit.
Thirty minutes. A grounding exercise, a moment for gratitude, then Anapanasati - a breath meditation that brings attention back to the simplest thing: inhale, exhale.
This practice works by withdrawing attention from distracting thoughts and redirecting it to the breath. Over time, thoughts become calmer, more balanced, and the nervous system settles.
As a practitioner, this matters. I can’t hold space for someone else’s system if my own is dysregulated. I can’t listen deeply if I’m scattered. The quality of my presence directly affects the quality of the work.
Do you have a practice that grounds you before your day begins?
