Something that has come up a few times in my clients session (and also for me), is trying to get back to the you before.
Before kids.
Before a relationship.
Before an event.
Before a tragedy.
Before a move.
Just before.
Whoever you were…Before.
There can be so much energy spent trying to get back to her or him.
We sometimes forget that we are no longer that person. And getting back to who you were is almost impossible.
Because you are different.
You have changed.
Your priorities have shifted.
Your wants and needs are no longer the same.
And that is okay.
Instead, we work together to help get you out of the past, give thanks, and move forward.
Because that is where you are going.
We can help shift your energy and focus to the future you.
To who you want to be.
To what you want.
That is where you are heading. That is what you have control over. The decisions and thoughts you make today affect your future. This is where you can make the changes to get to where you want to be. Today, in this moment.
Things you thought you knew or wanted are going to change with you. And that is okay. It is okay to change your mind. To decide you want something different than you thought you did.
Meet yourself at where you are now.
Get clear on how you want to feel.
A question I ask myself often is,
“What can I do today to help the future me?”
This has helped shift myself out of the past and start living for my future.
The one I am creating everyday.
