There is a reason that some of our favourite moments in life happen around a dinner table, on a walk with a friend, at a community event, or during a conversation where we feel truly seen.

Humans are wired for connection.

While wellness is often talked about in terms of nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, our relationships and sense of belonging play an important role in our wellbeing too. Feeling supported, understood, and connected can have a profound impact on both our physical and emotional health.

Community doesn’t have to mean having a large social circle. Sometimes it looks like one trusted friend. A neighbour who checks in. A practitioner who listens. A group that makes you feel welcome. The people who remind you that you don’t have to carry everything on your own.

At Nurture & Flo, one of the greatest gifts of the past five years has been watching community form within these walls. We’ve witnessed friendships begin, support systems grow, and people find spaces where they feel safe to show up exactly as they are.

As we move through a season associated with the Heart in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we’re reminded that connection is not separate from wellness. It is an important part of it.

Who is someone in your life that helps you feel supported, seen, or connected? 💚

Mother’s Day can hold a lot of feelings, and sometimes they linger a little after. In the body, in the mind, in ways that are not always easy to name.

If that feels true for you, this is a simple way to come back to yourself.

Find a quiet moment, even just a few minutes, and try this:

- Place one hand on your chest and one on your lower abdomen
• Let your breath move naturally, without trying to change it
• Notice the warmth of your hands and the weight of them
• Pay attention to how your body responds to being held in this way

You do not need to fix anything or make sense of it all. Just stay here for a few breaths and let yourself be supported, even in this small way.

Sometimes care looks like doing less, and simply being with what is there. 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day. 🌸

Today is a chance to celebrate the mothers and caregivers who give so much of themselves, in ways that are seen and unseen.

The love, the effort, the constant holding of others, often woven quietly into everyday life.

At the same time, we know this day can hold more than one feeling.

For some, it is joyful and full.
For others, it may feel tender, complex, or a little heavier to move through.

There is no one way to experience Mother’s Day.

However this day meets you,
we hope there is a moment of softness in it.
A moment where you feel supported, appreciated, or simply given space to be as you are.

And to those who are showing up with care in any form,
we celebrate you too ❤️✨

When someone you love spends so much of their time caring for others,
it can be hard for them to pause and receive that same care in return.

Sometimes the most meaningful support is not something big or elaborate.
It is creating space for them to rest.
To be held.
To be taken care of, even for a moment.

This could look like a quiet hour to themselves.
A treatment that allows their body to soften.
Time away from the constant giving they are so used to.

If you are looking for a way to support someone in your life this week,
consider what it might feel like for them to be on the receiving end of care.

And if you are someone who is always holding others,
this is a gentle reminder that you are allowed to receive, too. 🤍

As we move toward Mother’s Day, we begin to reflect on care.

Not just in the ways it is traditionally defined,
but in the many ways it quietly exists all around us.

Care can look like tending to a child.
It can look like supporting a partner, a friend, a parent.
It can look like holding space for others, showing up, staying present.

It can also look like nurturing something you are growing.
An idea, a business, a version of yourself that is still becoming.

And sometimes, care is the way you learn to hold yourself.
Gently. Patiently. In moments that are not always easy.

There are so many ways to be a caregiver.
So many ways to offer and receive care.

This week, we are holding space for all of it. 🤍

Self Care Sunday - Supporting Digestion Gently Edition

A small check-in for today:

Slow down your meals.
Choose something warm and easy to digest.
Take a few deep breaths before you eat.
Step outside for a short walk after.

Nothing complicated. Just a few ways to help your body settle and feel supported as the season shifts. 🌿🤍

Working with a holistic nutritionist is not about being told what to eat or following a strict plan 🍓🫐🥑🍉

It’s a space to slow down and understand what your body is asking for through curiosity, compassion and education.

Together, you look at how you’re feeling day to day. Your energy, digestion, sleep, mood, and the rhythms that shape your life. From there, support is built gently, in a way that feels sustainable and realistic for you and your unique needs.

Nourishment becomes something you return to, not something you have to get right, and food should be a devotion practice of care and pleasure that matches the ebbs and flows of your life.

The goal is not perfection. It is helping you feel more steady, more supported, and more connected to your body in the process.

There is something about spring that mirrors birth.

A threshold. A crossing. The quiet courage it takes to bring something new into the world.

As the light shifts and the season begins to open, we are reminded that birth is not simply a medical event. It is a deeply human experience. One that deserves reverence, clarity, and choice.

Every person moving through pregnancy and postpartum should feel informed and supported in their decisions. The right to ask questions. The right to consent. The right to change your mind. The right to be met with respect rather than dismissal.

At Nurture + Flo, we hold this season of life gently. Whether someone is preparing their body, navigating pregnancy, or settling into the tender postpartum window, our role is to walk alongside. To listen carefully. To support without overriding.

Care should help you feel more connected to your own voice, not further from it. 🤍

We are looking to welcome one or two new practitioners into the Nurture + Flo community.

Our clinic is home to a group of independent practitioners who believe in thoughtful, patient-centred care and in supporting one another along the way. While each practitioner runs their own practice, the clinic thrives on collaboration, shared referrals, and a genuine sense of community.

As our team shifts this spring, we are opening space for a Registered Health Professional to join us. This could look like a Registered Massage Therapist, Naturopath, Physiotherapist, somatic or trauma-informed practitioner, or another modality that complements the care already offered within the clinic.

What you’ll find here:

✨ Beautiful, fully equipped treatment rooms

✨ Set rent model with no commission taken

✨ A supportive referral network within the clinic

✨ JaneApp charting and a strong community presence

If you are passionate about integrative care and building a practice within a collaborative environment, we would love to connect.
