Laser Hair Removal Facts!

1. Our hair grows in 3 phases. Only during phase 1 is the follicle connected to blood supply therefore hair removal is most effective during the “anagen phase”. Only 20% of our hair is in this phase at a time which is why multiple treatments are needed.

2. You must only shave before and during your series of appointments as the follicle needs to be attached to the blood supply. Plucking or waxing removes the follicles from the blood supply.

The laser works by targeting the oxyhemoglobin which gives blood it’s red pigment this photothermal reaction creates a gas bubble. As the gas bubble dissipates it induces a vacuum like state in the vessel, flattening the vessel walls so the vessel disappears.
