STRENGTH TRAINING BENEFITS 🏋🏼‍♀️

Strength training is one of my favourite forms of exercise. Some good music, a cute outfit and lifting heavy things can make any day feel so much better.

I find lots of women avoid strength training because they worry it can make them ‘bulky’ or put higher emphasis on cardio (especially for weight loss)

Strength training can;

• improve cardiovascular health
• increase bone density
• improve mental health
• lower body fat
• improve body image
• reduce risk of many types of chronic diseases

You don’t even need a gym membership! A couple pairs of dumbbells and a YouTube video is all that’s needed.

Are you worried about your hormone health?
Then this post is for you! 
 
When you go off the birth control pill it can take some time before your body naturally adjusts to the lack of hormones that the pill was giving you. 

You can experience bothersome symptoms in that time. Acne, weight gain, irritability, lack of periods and emotional stress. You can help reduce these symptoms by supporting your body’s natural transition by practicing cycle supporting methods.

Same here! 

Mine include thing such as improving my relationship with alcohol, getting better educated about finances, and being consistent with my morning routine. 

The tricky thing isn’t coming up with resolutions or goals, it’s KEEPING THEM. 

If you’re truly serious about keeping your resolutions, then it’s time to build yourself a plan that will help you maintain your resolutions! Using a SMART goals guide is really helpful as well.

Any of these sound familiar? 
 
A lot of the time I hear people talking about signs and symptoms that they experience and say that it’s “normal because it happens to so many people”. 
 
While they are correct that these things happen to lots of people, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t anything wrong.  
 
It’s very common to have some hormone dysregulation at certain time in life such as stress, illness, age, etc. But if you’re CONSTANTLY experiencing things that are related to hormone imbalance just know that there are simple things you can do to create a better quality of life for yourself.

MELATONIN: What is it and should I take it for sleep?

Some practitioners recommend melatonin STRAIGHT AWAY when someone is struggling with sleep issues.

Melatonin can be really helpful for specific situations! But, typically there is a reason a person’s body isn’t synthesizing enough natural melatonin in the first place.

There are other nutrients, and factors that can contribute to increasing your body’s natural melatonin production FIRST. 

I work on sleep with almost every single client because sleep issues are so prominent.

Tired in the morning and wired at night? Waking up EXHAUSTED but can’t sleep? Always relying on multiple coffees to keep you going? 

If this sounds like you, you might be dealing with a cortisol imbalance. 

Cortisol is your main stress hormone. It is supposed to be highest in the morning, and gradually taper off as the day goes on.  

However, if you have unregulated cortisol it can be higher in the evening and lower in the morning.

Here are a few tips and tricks to regulate your cortisol levels. Keep in mind! This can take consistent effort over a longer time period to correct.
