One of the most valuable skills we can develop is understanding that other people may experience the same situation very differently than we do.
Recently, I supported someone who was struggling to understand another person’s perspective. From their point of view, their need made perfect sense. What was harder to see was that the other person also had valid feelings, needs, and reasons for thinking differently.
Using a simple visual support, we explored both perspectives side by side. The goal wasn’t to decide who was right or wrong. The goal was understanding.
Perspective-taking isn’t always easy, but sometimes a simple visual can open the door to conversations that words alone can’t.
I love finding what works 🥰
