Laurie Lunden Massage Worx Hello! I’m Laurie Lunden

Owner & Operator of Massage Worx. I am a trained Massage Therapist who specializes in Myofascial Release Therapy.

BioFascial Integration Therapy
Trauma, inflammation, autoimmune, lymphatic drainage, visceral therapy, osteopathy, Sports Therapy, Chronic and Acute Injury, pathologies, rehabilitation, nervous system reset I am passionate about helping others through massage therapy and health and wellness. I have seen amazing things happen when people spend time caring for themselves and believing in their bodie

s ability to heal; increasing their happiness and well being. I have always loved learning about the human body and have devoted the last 25 years of my life to growth in this area. I first studied massage therapy in Vancouver BC in 1996 at the WCCMT. I then pursued my love of travel and adventure (and beaches and waves) and moved to Australia in 1998. It was at this time that I became a registered member of the Australian Massage Therapy Association. Through the association I took certifications in anything I could get my hands on in relation to massage, fitness, and mind/body healing. In Australia I enjoyed working in holistic health clinics alongside Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Nutritionists, Naturopaths, and Sports doctors who were all amazing mentors for me. They challenged and inspired me to look outside the box and see the body as a whole unit. I got very involved in sports massage and worked for some amazing events: the 2000 Australian Olympics, the USA Cycling Team (Lance Armstrong), the Australian rugby players, swim teams, Iron Man competitors, triathletes, and even Cirque du Soleil performers. I also began working with clients that were seeking healing outside of traditional western medicine. This included clients that were overcoming addiction, mental illness, neurological disorders like MS, Cancer and chemotherapy, autoimmune disorders like Lupus, and hospice work. This is work I found truly rewarding. In 2008 I moved back to Canada with my three boys to be closer to my family. In 2009 I underwent two hip replacements. This experience helped me understand first-hand how it feels to live with pain and stay positive. I was told there were many things I would never do again but I listened to my body and never gave up on myself. I truly believe our bodies have the ability to heal from trauma. I now enjoy trail running, hiking, swimming, yoga, and am learning to ski again. After this it was time to be inspired again so I became certified as a Myofascial Therapist. This work opened my mind and expanded my understanding of how the human body is interconnected. I learned to slow down and feel, by unlocking the fascial system, the tissue that surrounds our organ system, trauma can be released and healing of the mind, body, and spirit can begin. I now incorporate MFR into my massage practice and find it amazing how gentle and effective it is, making it great for those in pain. The results are incredible and clients love these treatments. Dedicated to the healing process, I support my clients to become more connected both physically and spiritually. I am committed to creating a safe place for healing and it is my deepest honour to be in service to others. I look forward to working with you! Laurie

I am almost completed the 2 year Byodynamic Fascial Integration (BFI) program, which integrates fascial, osteopathy, cranial-sacral, and visceral studies. Bodhi Tree Teaching

Sharing this integral information…so good! 😊 thank you for this wonderful poster

This is exactly why the body cannot be treated like isolated parts.

An expander may create more space in the palate, but the palate is not separate from the rest of the fascial system, cranial system, airway, jaw, neck, tongue, pelvis, and nervous system. Everything is connected.

When expansion is done without addressing the surrounding fascial restrictions and compensatory patterns, many children are forced to adapt instead of truly integrating the change.

You can often see:

➡️ Increased tension patterns

➡️ Nervous system dysregulation

➡️ Headaches

➡️ Jaw compensation

➡️ Neck and shoulder tension

➡️ Tongue dysfunction

➡️ Relapse or incomplete integration

➡️ Asymmetry in the face and cranium

➡️ Emotional overwhelm and sensory changes

The palate is not just “bone.”
It is living tissue influenced by fascia, cranial motion, tongue posture, breathing patterns, and whole-body mechanics.

If the body has unresolved restrictions from:

✨ birth trauma

✨ tethered oral tissues

✨ C-sections

✨ falls

✨ chronic mouth breathing

✨ retained primitive reflexes

✨ stress and trauma patterns

…then simply widening the palate without supporting the rest of the system can create strain throughout the body.

This is why I believe pediatric Myofascial Release should be part of every airway and expansion journey.

Gentle JFB Myofascial Release can help:

✨support nervous system regulation

✨decrease fascial tension patterns

✨improve whole-body adaptation

✨support cranial mobility

✨assist tongue and jaw function

✨improve integration of structural changes

✨help the child feel safer in their body during treatment

Children are not machines to be “cranked wider.”
They are deeply interconnected human beings whose bodies deserve support, gentleness, and integration.

Expansion should never just be about making space in the mouth.
It should also be about creating safety, balance, function, and ease throughout the entire body.
