Eggs and an English muffin. This was regular breakfast for me three years ago.
Now there is nothing wrong with this at all as a base it has - protein - carbs - fat. Everything you need for a balanced meal..
However, what I know now about my own body is that this was not is not enough food to sustain me and keep me full!
So what would happen is I would eat this then in an hour or two. I would be hungry again.
But I would tell myself it wasn't lunchtime so I would hold out maybe snacking on chips chocolate. Anything I could get my hands on that somehow 'didn't count'
I then would go into this downward spiral of how I 'can't control myself around food' and then I'd eat anything and everything in front of me, (including butter straight from the tub)
Fueling this internal thought that I had a problem with food.
what was actually happening is I just wasn't eating enough of the food my body needed and then when my body told me it was still hungry I was shaming it because I just ate and it's not time to eat again!
My body was telling me it needed more nutrients, (at the time I ate little to no fruits and little veg at lunch and dinner)
This pattern went on for years and years and years until I finally broke the cycle.
I learned what a balanced meal was and I understood what is going on in my body and how food drove my energy levels and that I needed a lot more food then I actually thought!
Now if I have a breakfast like this that's maybe not enough when I feel hungry again, I eat something worth while , like fruit & yoghurt!
