I do believe in the energy of plants. We found patches of Birds Eye primrose yesterday in our fishing adventures. Like other primroses, it is often associated with early spring, faerie folklore, and the threshold between winter and spring. Setting the intention to see warmer temps when we picked these beauties yesterday. .

Hi everyone. I’m Dr Monika. Fun fact about me in case you haven’t noticed…. I love to forage and cook! When I have time lately. lol it is my form of medicine. It calms my anxiety and nervous system. It grounds me. It puts my mind into meditation.
I have now been practicing naturopathic medicine seeing 25-30 +\- patients a week 3 days a week for over 19 years and I still love my job. I often talk to my patients that our care is not just supplements, diets and studies that prove xyz. There is more to health and this incorporates mind body medicine. For me, foraging, cooking and art help me re align w my health..
My ramps are going into mini egg cups, into a frittata and maybe a pesto! .
GREATFUL for for the forage.

It’s one of my fav- Rhubarb. 5 interesting facts.

1 – It’s not actually a fruit!
….did you know that rhubarb is actually a vegetable! In fact, it is actually part of the Polygonaceae family, which includes foods like buckwheat and sorrel.
2– It packs a healthy punch
….high in fibre and acts as a laxative and an excellent source of calcium and vitamin K.
3- Handmade Paper too!
…Rhubarb stalks and leaves can be processed and blended into a fibrous pulp for making paper.
4- rhubarb for hot flashes?! .
Siberian rhubarb extract (ERr 731) is an effective, non-hormonal, natural remedy for reducing the frequency and severity of hot flashes and night sweats in perimenopausal women. Studies show it can reduce hot flashes by up to 83% over 12 weeks, often providing relief within 4 weeks.
5-The Rhubarb Triangle
…. is a 9-square-mile area in West Yorkshire, England famous for producing early forced rhubarb.
At one time, West Yorkshire produced 90% of the world’s winter forced rhubarb.
