From a functional medicine perspective, the transition into fall can be a natural opportunity to reassess and reset our health routines. As the days become shorter, schedules become fuller, and our environment changes, our bodies and habits often need a little more support.

What fall can mean for your health routine

1. A return to routine
Summer often brings later nights, travel, social events, and less structure. Fall can be a great time to return to consistent habits around meals, movement, sleep, and stress management.

2. Supporting your immune system
With more time spent indoors and cold and flu season approaching, fall is a good reminder to focus on the foundations of immune health: nutrient-dense food, adequate protein, sleep, hydration, movement, and stress management.

3. Adjusting to less daylight
Shorter days can affect circadian rhythms, mood, energy, and sleep. Getting outside for morning light and maintaining a consistent sleep schedule can become especially important.

4. Eating with the season
Fall naturally brings foods rich in fibre and antioxidants—think squash, pumpkin, root vegetables, apples, pears, leafy greens, and warming soups and stews. It’s a great season to focus on nourishing, grounding meals.

5. Checking in with stress levels
September can bring a “back-to-business” energy, but that can also mean more stress and less time for ourselves. Functional medicine reminds us that health isn’t just about food and exercise—our nervous system, relationships, rest, and emotional wellbeing matter too.

6. Preparing rather than reacting
Fall is a great time to ask: What worked for me this summer? What slipped? What does my body need now? Rather than waiting until January for a reset, small adjustments now can help support energy, metabolism, immunity, and overall wellbeing through the winter.

A simple functional medicine perspective:

Fall doesn’t have to mean restriction or a dramatic health reset. It can simply be a season ofreturning to your foundations.

Discipline isn’t punishment.

It’s self-respect.

Because every time you choose a habit that supports your health, you’re sending yourself a message:

I am worth taking care of.

And honestly? There is nothing sexier than feeling strong, energized, confident, capable, and fully alive in your own body.

Make discipline your hottest habit.

SHOWING UP FOR YOURSELF LOOKS DIFFERENT AFTER 40. ✨
It’s not about looking younger.
It’s not about shrinking your body.
And it’s definitely not about following every wellness trend.
It’s about self-respect.
Showing up for your health means asking:
Am I nourishing my body—or constantly restricting it?
Am I moving in ways that make me stronger?
Am I prioritizing sleep, stress, hormones and recovery?
Am I paying attention to what my body is trying to tell me?
Am I making choices that support the woman I want to be 10, 20 or 30 years from now?
Because after 40, taking care of yourself isn’t selfish.
It’s self-respect.
It’s choosing to live authentically, protect your energy, build strength, support your metabolism and create a life where you actually feel good being YOU.
You don’t need to become someone else.
You deserve to become more fully yourself.

What if your 40s, 50s, 60s weren’t about slowing down…

…but about getting stronger, leaner and metabolically healthier?

Because the goal isn’t simply to make the number on the scale smaller.

💥 Visceral fat is dangerous because it is metabolically active deep inside the belly, releasing harmful chemicals that cause type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

The goal is to change what that weight is made of.

Unlike regular fat under the skin, visceral fat pumps out hormones and inflammatory proteins.

Our client saw amazing change to her metabolism!

Less excess body fat.
Less visceral fat.
Preserved muscle.
A healthier metabolic foundation.

And yes—you can make meaningful changes to your metabolism after 40, 50, 60 and beyond. ❤️

This is why we don’t believe women should simply accept that weight gain, muscle loss and changing body composition are “just what happens as we age.”

Your body is still capable of change.

And your mid to later life can absolutely be a time to invest in becoming stronger, healthier and more metabolically resilient.

This is what Bodyglow is about.

Not chasing a smaller body.

Building a healthier one.
