I spent a few hours this week looking through 21 massage therapists' Instagram profiles, and honestly... it made me realize how many incredibly talented people are making themselves invisible online.

I kept seeing the same things over and over again. Logos instead of faces. Bios that tell me what you do but not who you help. Beautiful treatment photos but nothing that tells me who YOU are.

And it made me a little sad because I know exactly what that's like.

When I started, I thought being good at massage was enough. I thought if I worked hard, cared about my clients and kept improving my skills, the bookings would just happen.

Turns out, that's not how it works.

People can't book the therapist they never get to know.

I didn't learn any of this in massage school. I learned it after working for a clinic, burning myself out, getting fired after breaking my foot, and having to figure out how to build something on my own.

So now, whenever I see another therapist making the same mistakes I did, I can't help but want to share what I've learned.

There was a time when I spent all day building someone else's client list, someone else's reputation, and someone else's business.

Now, every bit of effort I put in is building something that's mine.

Not because it's easier.
Not because I work less.

But because every small step gets me closer to a career with more freedom, more flexibility, and more choice.

You thought you overshared and weirded me out during your session...

But actually, you weirded me in. 😂

One thing I've learned as a therapist is that people don't just come for the massage.

They come carrying stress.
Big life updates.
Relationship drama.
Work frustrations.
Surgery recovery fears.
And sometimes stories they've been holding onto for weeks.

So if you've ever left a session thinking, "Omg, why did I tell her all that?" please know you're probably not the first and definitely won't be the last. 🤍

The truth is, some of my favourite clients are the ones who feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

Whether you're chatting non-stop, venting about your week, celebrating a win, or lying there in complete silence, there's no judgment here.

My goal isn't just to help you feel better physically. It's to create a space where you can genuinely relax, switch off, and feel looked after.

When I first started posting online, I had no clue what I was doing.

My camera angles were awkward.
My lighting wasn't great.
And honestly, I spent way too much time worrying about how my videos looked.

But here's what actually got me clients:

I showed my work.

I showed the results.
I showed the process.
I showed up consistently.

Most therapists think they need perfect content before they can start attracting clients. You don't.

People don't book because your videos are perfectly edited.
They book because they trust that you can help them.

The therapists winning online aren't always the best at content creation. They're the ones who are visible.

If you're a massage therapist and you're not investing in your business, you're not building a business, you're funding an expensive hobby.

Having amazing hands isn't enough.

You need systems.
You need a way for clients to book with you.
You need follow-ups.
You need marketing.
You need a way to consistently attract new clients instead of hoping your next booking comes through.

The therapists who are building successful private practices aren't necessarily the most talented.

They're the ones treating their practice like a business.
