We often get questions about some of the equipment that we carry. Over the course of the next several weeks, we will be highlighting some of the equipment we carry that goes beyond typical “first aid” gear.

Up today is the SAM Pelvic Sling II! These devices play an integral role in helping to immobilize pelvic fractures and control severe internal bleeding.

BCEMS is proud to be launching a Bicycle Response Unit to supplement our regular ambulance, off-road John Deere Gator-Ambulance, special operations trailer, and foot patrols.

Our bikes are equipped with general first aid supplies, AED units, Oxygen, Advanced Airway equipment, IV supplies, and Symptom Relief medications to provide life saving care - even in hard to reach places.

As we prepare for the upcoming busy season, we’re happy to share that we’ve transitioned to a fleet of state of the art, digital and encrypted, trunked radio network with coverage across Southern Ontario. These new radios and related infrastructure will help to promote interoperability as between other allied agencies across the region and ensure that when seconds count, our team members have reliable, clear, and secure communications.
