Saturday mornings have started to feel really different to me lately.
I used to spend most weekends trying to “catch up” on life as fast as possible. I’d wake up already stressed about everything I needed to do before Monday came around again. The laundry. The groceries. Cleaning the kitchen. Meal prepping. Trying to organize the house. Trying to mentally prepare for another busy week. It always felt rushed, like I was racing against the clock before the chaos started all over again.
But lately I’ve been trying to slow down during those quiet morning hours instead of treating them like another task on my to-do list.
There’s something comforting about making coffee while the house is still quiet, opening the curtains, putting music on softly in the background, and slowly working through little routines that make the week ahead feel just a bit more manageable. Washing fruit before it goes bad. Wiping down the counters. Portioning meals into containers. Sitting down for a few minutes to actually think about the week ahead instead of just reacting to it.
I think for a long time I believed wellness had to look big and impressive to matter. But honestly, some of the healthiest moments in life are usually the smallest and quietest ones.
Sometimes taking care of yourself is simply creating a little bit of peace before another busy week begins.
