🌈 We had our Annual Pride Lunch March today and brought a little extra colour to the streets of McDermot & Notre Dame, celebrating diversity, inclusion, belonging, and the vibrant community.

If you saw us walking by, thank you for waving, joining, and honking your horns! 📣🎉

Here’s to celebrating Pride! 💙

This , we’re sharing the story of Dr. Andrew Cuddihy, a Research Associate at the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute CancerCare Manitoba.

Living with profound hearing loss since childhood, Andrew has spent decades navigating barriers in professional and everyday settings. Today, thanks to a pair of captioning glasses through the generosity of a donor, he can participate more fully in seminars, meetings, and conferences than ever before.

“For the first time, I can truly and fully participate in seminars and meetings without having to rely on lipreading or any other third-party help,” he says.

The impact reaches far beyond the workplace—opening doors to experiences like movies, plays, comedy shows and other events that many of us take for granted.

Andrew’s story is a powerful example of how accessibility can unlock potential, strengthen inclusion and create a greater sense of belonging.

is almost here and members of our executive team are stepping up to support CancerCare Manitoba Foundation largest annual fundraiser. 💙

For Dr. Kent Stobart, participating is about giving back, staying active and being part of something bigger.

“What inspires me most is the diversity of people who participate — all ages, all fitness levels. It’s really about showing up.”

Even while out of town, Dr. Stobart is taking part virtually alongside his dog, Maple, who keeps him moving (with plenty of stops to sniff the plants along the way 🌿).

He’s also walking in honour of loved ones affected by cancer, including his cousin and mother-in-law.

His advice for anyone thinking about joining?

“Just walk — just do it.”

Whether you walk, run, volunteer, donate or cheer others on, every step helps support cancer patients and families across Manitoba.

Join us in supporting CancerCare Manitoba Foundation’s Challenge for Life and be part of this incredible community event.

For Dr. Arbind Dubey, participating in Challenge for Life is about more than walking, it’s about coming together to support compassionate cancer care and life-changing research right here in Manitoba. 💙

“Challenge for Life aligns with what CancerCare Manitoba stands for by bringing people together with the common goal of raising awareness and funds for fostering excellence in patient care and research,” he says.

This year marks at least his third Challenge, and he’ll be walking in honour of Manitobans facing a cancer diagnosis and for his mother, a breast cancer survivor.

Thank you, Dr. Dubey, for supporting Challenge for Life and for helping inspire our CCMB community to come together in support of patients, families, and research.

You can register today at ChallengeforLife.ca 💙

For 25 years, CervixCheck has helped Manitobans take charge of their health through cervix cancer screening and early detection.

This milestone reflects the dedication of healthcare providers, clinics, laboratories, community partners, and program staff across Manitoba who continue to make screening accessible and possible.

To everyone who has been part of this journey and to those who continue to make screening a priority of their health, thank you!

Here’s to 25 years of prevention, partnership, and impact.

Life gets busy. You might feel nervous, unsure if you’re eligible, or keep telling yourself you’ll book “soon.”

That’s okay — you’re not alone. 💙
