⚠️ Pet owners: Be on the lookout for signs of screwworm if you’re travelling to the southern United States, South America or Mexico with companion animals 🐕

New World screwworm is a flesh-eating pest that can pose a serious threat to pets, livestock and wildlife.

If travelling to these areas, take precautions to protect your animal and check daily for:

🔸 Draining or enlarging wounds
🔸 Maggots or egg masses in open wounds
🔸Signs of discomfort or unusual behaviour
🔸Sores near body openings, such as the ears or nose

If you suspect an infestation, contact your veterinarian immediately. 🚨
