Chronic pain affects more people globally than any other condition, and for many, conventional treatments offer only partial relief.

A 2020 systematic review and meta-analysis published in BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders looked at 10 randomized controlled trials involving 681 people living with chronic neck and back pain, migraine, headache, fibromyalgia, and pelvic girdle pain.

CST produced significant improvements in both pain intensity and physical function across all comparison groups, including against active manual treatments and sham controls. Those effects held at six months.

This week is Craniosacral Therapy Awareness Week. If you've been curious about CST, or you know someone who has been managing chronic pain without satisfactory results, this week offers low-fee sliding scale sessions ($25-50) at two Winnipeg locations, and two free introductory presentations.

For details on sessions and presentations send me a DM.

The Equinox: A Biological Event

Today marks the spring equinox, the point at which light begins to prevail.
Our bodies have been tracking this shift for weeks. Personally, I’ve been feeling an expansion. The feeling of hibernation is lifting.

Light is the primary signal regulating our circadian rhythm; it is our internal clock that governs cortisol release, Melatonin production, sleep, immune function, as well as hormone regulation. As daylight increases, our brain's master clock begins recalibrating these systems.

Significant physiological transitions are happening at this time, and the process can feel unsettling before it feels better. As a result we may experience lighter sleep, fluctuating energy, as well as mood shifts. Our craniosacral system, which is the rhythmic movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the brain and spinal cord, is part of the same network that our body uses to regulate and recover.

When the nervous system is under load, as it is during any period of recalibration, those tidal rhythms can become restricted or irregular. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) works to support the nervous system's capacity to process change and return to a coherent rhythm. Because we are a part of nature, our body is also going through seasonal transition. BCST helps our system do that work with greater ease.

If you're feeling the effects of this transition, BCST may help. Reach out to book a session.

Balancing the Tides

A week after we adjusted the clocks here in many places in North America, many of us are still feeling the effects. I know I am. Even after a week, a person’s system can still experience slight fatigue, disrupted sleep, a nervous system quietly trying to settle.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) offers great support in recalibrating one’s system.

Our body carries its own tides - rhythmic, intelligent fluid movements that resonate closely with the rhythms of the Earth. Our nervous system is tuned to the lunar tides, as are the Earth’s oceans, and our system mirrors the electromagnetic field within which we exist. As we recalibrate the body, we come back into resonance with the very rhythms that sustain all life.

BCST works directly with this rhythmic intelligence of the body. When we disrupt our circadian rhythm, as we do every spring and fall, or any time we disrupt our sleep, the central nervous system absorbs that disruption, it holds it. BCST invites your system to release that holding, to return to its natural rhythm, and remember its inherent health.

BCST can help:
🌀 Calm an overstimulated nervous system
🌀 Support your body's own re-patterning
🌀 Reconnect you to your body's deepest intelligence
🌀 Restore sleep quality and a felt sense of ease

This is the essence of what I do - I hold the space for your body's intelligence to implement its inherent treatment plan.
If this time shift has left you frayed, ungrounded, or simply not quite yourself, this is an invitation. 🙏

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance.
It’s about safety.

Before flowers.

Before dinner reservations.

Before trying to make everything feel special.

It’s about whether your body actually feels safe enough to soften. Not everyone is in a rom-com moment today.

Some people are tired.

Some are holding grief.

Some are quietly overloaded.

And if that’s you, that’s ok.

What if today wasn’t about the “show” of love, but about letting your nervous system experience it?

Love might look like:

• A slower exhale

• Choosing quiet instead of pressure

• Placing your hand over your heart and staying there for a few breaths

• Pressing your feet gently into the floor and noticing you’re supported

These are all ways of signalling to your system that it is safe, that it is supported, and that it is loved by the person from whom it matters most — you.

Moments of self-regulation can go a long way toward creating safety within your system.

If you’d like additional support creating safety in your system, you’re welcome to reach out.

Regulation doesn’t mean calm.

It means your nervous system has enough safety to respond instead of react.

Small moments of orientation and support build real regulation over time.
