3 things I stopped worrying about as a dietitian 👇

❌ Eating after 8 PM

Nutrition doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing.

Most of the progress comes from boring things done consistently:
✔️ Getting enough protein
✔️ Eating more fiber
✔️ Moving your body
✔️ Building habits you can actually maintain

When you include healthy fats as part of a balanced diet, they can help keep you full and satisfied, so you’re not constantly thinking about food all day long 🥑

They also support your hormones, which is HUGE, especially postpartum, in menopause or when stress is high.

And if your meals feel like ‘something’s missing’… 🤔 it’s often fat.

That ‘I just ate but I still want something’ feeling? Yep, this can be why!

Add a handful of nuts, some avocado, or a drizzle of olive oil to your meals 🫒🥜🥑

You don’t need to eat less.. ask yourself ‘what can I add to make it better?’🙌

Quick little fillling snack 🍑

All you need are some peaches, tomato, shallots and basil. Smear some cottage cheese on toast and a drizzle of your favourite balsamic glaze 👌🏼

Here is a low maintenance high protein lunch idea 💡

This one takes less than 10 minutes – Buffalo Chicken Wrap
🌯 Whole wheat wrap
🍗 Rotisserie chicken
🥗 Bagged salad kit

That’s it. Simple, balanced, filling and packed with protein to keep you full all afternoon.

We made it to the weekend! Summer is also creeping up and that means… BBQ season 😋

For those who know me know I love a good burger.. one of my favourite ways to build a balanced meal is by using the “healthy plate method”:

✔️ Protein → helps keep you full & supports muscle
✔️ Fibre-filled carbs → gives energy + helps with fullness and digestion
✔️ Healthy fats & veggies → adds nutrients, fibre, flavour, and satisfaction

This plate is a great example:
🍔 Burger on a whole grain bun for fibre-filled carbs
🥩 Protein-packed patty (I did turkey this time)
🥗 Side salad with veggies, feta, walnuts & balsamic for extra fibre and healthy fats

Balanced meals can still include foods you love… like BBQ Burgers… it’s all about what you ADD to the plate, not just what you take away 👏

These quick breakfast sandwiches have been saving my mornings lately 👏🏻

They’re quick, filling and easy to make (could even do wraps).. eggs cook fast but you could meal prep a veggie frittata ahead for an even quicker meal in the mornings.

What’s inside👇🏻
🥯 Protein bagel
🍳 Eggs
🫑 Peppers + onion + spinach
🧀 Cheese

Such an easy way to get a balanced breakfast with:
✔️ Protein
✔️ Fibre
✔️ Healthy carbs
✔️ Veggies

Meal Prep Tip:
Wrap individually and store in the fridge for 3–4 days or freeze for longer. Microwave or air fry to reheat!
