What is the Disability Tax? Research suggests that disabled individuals need to spend approximately 28% more than their non-disabled peers on living expenses. Whether a disabled person works or not does not change the fact that being disabled is very expensive.

The Canada Disability Benefit was meant to help lift people with disabilities out of poverty. For many, it only amounts to a maximium of $6.80 a day- nowhere close to covering rent, groceries, or medication and other costs of living with a disability.
