Day 99
JACKET BUTTONING
This is more common in males simply due to the type of clothing worn regularly by men.
The buttoning of a jacket usually indicates a stopping point in trust, withholding and anxiety.
This is heavily affected by temperature.

👁️ THE HIDDEN FEARS BEHIND BEHAVIOUR

People don’t always react to what you said.

Sometimes they react to what it means to them.

A challenge can feel like disrespect.
A question can feel like being exposed.
Being ignored can feel like rejection.
Disagreement can feel like loss of status.

Behind the behaviour could be a fear around Significance, Approval, Acceptance, Intelligence, Pity or Strength.

🎯 Your mission: Watch a conversation and ask:

“What might this person be protecting right now?”

Don’t diagnose from one behaviour. Look for change, context and clusters.

The better you understand what someone fears losing, the better you understand why their behaviour changes.

Day 98

Watch touching

This behaviour is commonly understood and easily spotted by a novice interviewer.
Pay particular attention to whether the checking of the watch involves two hands and if the opposing hand places an unusual amount of tension while 'holding' the watch to view it.

A good rule of thumb to follow is the 5 c`s
Change — spotting shifts from someone’s baseline behaviour.
Context — factoring in the environment or situation before making judgments.
Clusters — looking for groups of signals, not isolated gestures.
Culture — considering upbringing and background to avoid false assumptions.
Checklist — the final step, where meaning is assigned only after the other filters are applied.

🎯 NOVELTY CREATES FOCUS. FOCUS IS CURRENCY.
If you can control Focus, understand Authority, build Tribe and recognise Emotion, you begin to understand what drives human behaviour.
Then layer in the 6 Axis Model and you stop guessing—and start seeing what influences the person in front of you.

MOST PEOPLE READ THE CONVERSATION ONCE.

PROFILERS READ IT TWICE.

The first conversation is the one everyone hears.
The words.
The explanation.
The objection.
The answer.

But there’s a second conversation happening at exactly the same time.
Behaviour.

A pause that wasn’t there before.
A posture shift.
A change in tone.
A sudden loss of engagement.
A movement away.

Something that changes when a particular subject appears.

Most people miss that conversation completely.

And often they recognise it afterwards:

“I knew something felt different.”

Profilers train to notice it while it’s happening.

The process I teach inside BIL is simple:
→ Establish what’s normal
→ Notice the change
→ Check the context
→ Look for clusters
→ Form a hypothesis
→ Know where to get curious
→ Ask the next question
And that last part matters.

Behaviour isn't the answer. It's information that tells you where to look next.
You don't see crossed arms and decide someone is defensive.

You don't see someone touch their face and decide they're lying.

You notice change, assess it in context, and investigate.

That's the difference between learning a collection of body-language “tells” and actually learning to profile behaviour.

Members train these skills in sales, leadership, interviews, negotiation and everyday relationships.

Because the conversation you're hearing isn't always the only conversation taking place.
Most people listen to the words.

Profilers watch the change.

DO YOU WANT TO GET BETTER AT READING PEOPLE? 👁️

Most people listen to the words.

Profilers learn to notice what changes, when it changes, and where to get curious next.

No mind-reading. No guessing. Just practical skills you can train in real conversations.

Think you’d make it through the flowchart? 👇

STOP GUESSING. START SEEING.

IT’S DIFFICULT TO READ PEOPLE WELL WITHOUT THESE 6 SKILLS.
P.S. You’re not born with these. You learn them, practise them and sharpen them.

1. CONTROL YOUR ATTENTION 👁
Most people hear words. Profilers notice change. Train yourself to see shifts in posture, behaviour, tone and engagement that others miss.

2. ESTABLISH THE BASELINE 🔍
One gesture means very little. Learn what’s normal for that person first—then notice when something changes.

3. READ CONTEXT & CLUSTERS 🧠
Stop jumping to conclusions from one signal. Look at Change, Context, Clusters, Culture and your Checklist before forming a hypothesis.

4. SPOT RESISTANCE ⚡
Learn to recognise when comfort, confidence or engagement shifts—whether you're in a sale, negotiation, interview, meeting or relationship.

5. KNOW WHERE TO GET CURIOUS ❓
Great profiling isn't mind-reading. It's knowing where to investigate next. Notice the change, form a hypothesis and ask a sharper question.

6. CONTROL YOUR OWN SIGNALS 🎯
Profiling isn't only about reading other people. Develop your own authority, composure and communication so you're more deliberate about what you bring into the room.
Take a moment and look at the six.

Which one are you strongest at—and which one would completely change the way you deal with people if you mastered it?

That's exactly what we train inside Behavioural Intelligence Lab.
Not motivation. Not theory.

Learn it. Practise it. Apply it. Become it.
