Is the ICD still earning its place in HFrEF care?

At e-SPACE HF 2026, Prof. Biykem Bozkurt will explore this question as part of Session 7 on rhythm management and device therapy in heart failure.

The discussion will examine sudden cardiac death prevention, alongside evolving approaches including CRT and conduction system pacing, cardiac contractility modulation, device-based neuromodulation and interatrial shunt devices.

Explore the evidence, hear different perspectives and consider how evolving device strategies can support better treatment decisions and better patient outcomes.

Tomorrow's guidelines will shape how you treat heart failure. Hear the debates before the recommendations are written.

The HF & Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Guidelines Forum 2026 puts you in the room with guideline authors as they weigh the latest trial evidence, grading criteria and the controversies that will define future recommendations.

Weight loss is not only about the number on the scale. In heart failure, what happens to muscle and body composition matters too.

At e-SPACE HF 2026, Prof. Stefan Anker will examine weight loss, muscle and body composition, with a focus on protecting the muscle.

As weight-loss therapies continue to evolve, understanding changes in muscle mass and body composition is increasingly important when considering their role in patients with heart failure.
Join Prof. Stefan Anker and leading experts for an in-depth discussion on obesity and heart failure, with a focus on approaches that can support better patient outcomes.

At , the EBAC-accredited educational session on non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (nsMRAs) in heart failure was a great success, with a full room of attendees and strong engagement throughout the session.

The meeting brought together cardiologists and heart failure specialists for a focused scientific discussion on the evolving role of nsMRAs in heart failure, highlighting the latest clinical evidence and their place in contemporary patient management.

Leading international experts shared perspectives on the evidence supporting nsMRAs, guideline considerations, and practical approaches to their use across the heart failure continuum.

Thank you to all attendees and faculty for contributing to a successful meeting and an engaging scientific exchange at ESC 2026.
Stay tuned for session highlights and further updates.

What did attendees take away from e-SPACE HF 2025?

Dr. Sift Ali Sekhry highlighted the value of learning from an international faculty, and of translating clinical evidence into care that benefits patients at population level.

That remains the aim in 2026: connecting the latest heart failure evidence with everyday clinical decision-making.

Join us for e-SPACE HF 2026 and hear from leading international experts across the evolving heart failure landscape.

HFpEF can be difficult to recognise early.
For GPs, the challenge is knowing when symptoms and clinical findings should prompt further assessment for HFpEF.

At e-SPACE HF 2026, Prof. Cristina Gavina will address “Finding HFpEF earlier: diagnostic algorithms and risk scores”, examining approaches that can support earlier identification of patients with possible HFpEF.

Because earlier recognition can help patients reach the right assessment and management pathway sooner, with the ultimate goal of better patient outcomes.

STEP-HFpEF and SUMMIT are changing the HFpEF conversation. Do you know where incretin therapies fit in your practice?

At e-SPACE Heart Failure 2026, TMA brings together international experts to break down the trial data and what it means for your patients:
- Which HFpEF patients stand to benefit
- How to interpret STEP-HFpEF and SUMMIT side by side
- Practical implications for HFpEF management

How can clinical trials evaluate outcomes across the cardiovascular, kidney, liver and metabolic systems within a single study?

As the CKLM framework evolves, trial design must address the methodological and statistical challenges of incorporating multiple organ endpoints.

At MOSAIC MASH 2026, the session “How to Design a Single Trial with Multiple CKLM Endpoints? Methodology and Statistical Toolkits” will explore mechanistic trial design, multi-organ imaging, methodological considerations, multiplicity, Bayesian approaches, and trial feasibility.

For clinical trialists working across MASH and MASLD, this session offers a practical look at the challenges of designing studies around multiple CKLM endpoints.

How do HFpEF phenotypes intersect with obesity and CKM disease?
At e-SPACE HF 2026, Prof. Javed Butler will co-chair two key programme areas exploring the complexity of HFpEF and the growing role of obesity and CKM disease in heart failure.

From diagosing HFpEF earlier and identifying distinct phenotypes to understanding obesity-related heart failure, the evolving CKM disease landscape and approaches to weight loss, muscle and body composition, these discussions address important considerations in heart failure care to improve better patient outcomes.

Join Prof. Javed Butler and leading international faculty for these discussions.
