Hidden Keys to Health
Ask people what they would like in their advanced years and most would probably say ‘good health.’ Biomedical advances and expensive medical care were supposed to deliver that result. If they had, the Americans should be the healthiest on the planet. Yet in 2016 the United States ranked forty-third in the world for life expectancy. Moreover, it is estimated that only 10-20% of an American’s health is related to what happens in the doctor’s office or in hospitals. So it doesn’t look as though the disease management system is going to provide the solution.
If your goal is to have radiant health, you’ll have to find answers elsewhere. The Italian economist Pareto recognised that a small number of factors produced most of the results. For radiant health what would those factors be?
In this presentation, Dr Wayne Topping will look for lessons from the animal kingdom, from the longest-lived peoples in the world, and from people that died of old age even though they violated most of the rules. We are looking for answers that are obvious once you are exposed to them, and designed to improve your later years, if you act on this knowledge.
