🚨📢 During the First Hybrid Meeting of the GOARN Strategic Group for Diagnostic Surge Capacities (SG-DiSC) over 60 experts from all over the globe met to discuss and plan the transition of the Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories (RRMLs) initiative to the global SG-DiSC, as agreed during the 35th GOARN Steering Committee meeting in May 2024🧬🌍

Hosted by the Robert Koch Institut in Germany and co-organized by the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network, the event was supported by the WHO Health Emergency Programme at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Participants deliberated and reached consensus on several key points:
🔹 Agreement on a general structure of a typology for RRMLs as a basis to design the scope of the GOARN SG-DiSC.
🔹 Establishment and adaptation of Terms of References for the GOARN SG-DiSC coordination board.
🔹 Development of priorities and action plans for the GOARN SG-DiSC.

These strategic discussions are vital for enhancing our global response capabilities to health emergencies 🤝
