The RBM Partnership to End Malaria is the largest global platform for coordinated action against malaria. Originally established as Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership in 1998, it mobilizes for action and resources and forges consensus among partners. The Partnership is comprised of more than 500 partners, including malaria endemic countries, their bilateral and multilateral development partners,

the private sector, nongovernmental and community-based organizations, foundations, and research and academic institutions. The RBM Partnership Secretariat is hosted by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Public health meets climate action. 🔗🌱

Our CEO Dr. Michael Adekunle Charles recently visited Ede North, Osun State, Nigeria, to witness a brilliant example of environmental sustainability in action.

Working with BASF, field teams are using a smart household marking system to distribute new bed nets while collecting old, worn-out ones. The best part? These old nets are recycled into alternative plastic products rather than harming local ecosystems. 🔄♻️

This milestone builds on the vital leadership of Jessica Rockwood (Global Director for the EOLIN Project) in managing end-of-life nets sustainably.

Shoutout to , nd, and local communities for proving that vector control can be climate-smart! 🙌

Last week, our CEO Dr. Michael Adekunle Charles was on the ground in Osun State, Nigeria, witnessing the power of integrated healthcare in action!

Working alongside the Society for Family Health Nigeria and Catholic Relief Services , incredible frontline workers aren't just distributing life-saving malaria bed nets—they’re also screening children (ages 0–14) for Tuberculosis ( ). 🦟➕🫁

By pairing malaria prevention with Tuberculosis screening, we ensure early detection and swift treatment referrals, maximizing our impact for local families.

A huge thank you to , , and the local communities for making integrated health systems a reality. Together, we go further! 🤝💪

The MOSASWA cross-border initiative is an example of how far unified action against malaria can take us. Implemented in Mozambique Eswatini and South Africa, MOSASWA is a focal point for regional leadership, programme engagement and innovation to fight malaria across borders. Over the past ten years, the initiative has applied close surveillance, traditional vector control tools such as use of insecticide treated nets and new tools such as utilizing drones to destroy mosquito larvae to fight malaria. While Mozambique remains one of the countries with the highest malaria burden and resurgence risk, the country is determined to take unified action to rewrite the story while protecting not just themselves but their neighbors too. Because nobody is safe from malaria until everyone everywhere is malaria free.

Change the story for children.

To protect the next generation, we have to start at the beginning. Malaria is a major threat to a healthy start in life, driving maternal anemia and child mortality.

But there is a solution: Integration. When malaria services are a core part of regular care, we build stronger communities and more resilient health systems. We can’t reach our global goals for moms and kids without tackling malaria head-on as part of their regular health package.

Now we can. Now we must.

Now is the time to for sustainable resource mobilization. As RBM and partners join , we are resolute and united in our call to plug the gap and unlock resources for a sustainable malaria response. RBM is bolstering resource mobilization through the Funders Information Package that provides a one-stop place for countries to find simplified information on the latest funding opportunities, funding cycle and eligibility criteria - making it easier to find and respond to funding calls while providing access to resources to power the fight against malaria. Adequately funding the national and global malaria response is key to creating a stronger global health architecture.

Completion > Resurgence. We’ve come too far to turn back. Stagnant funding isn't just a number—it’s a global risk.

Investing in malaria elimination isn't just about one disease; it’s about building stronger primary health care and maternal health services for everyone. But if we lose momentum, the cost of resurgence can erase years of progress.

To keep the world moving toward zero malaria, we must protect current resources and ensure predictable financing. Now we can. Now we must.

Staying ahead of resistance

Antimalarial drug resistance (AMDR) is a converging threat to our hard-won gains. It strains national budgets and makes malaria more expensive to reverse.

Now we can: We have the technical evidence to stay ahead. By strengthening surveillance and integrating data into decision-making, we can optimize our response.

Now we must: We must bridge the gap between technical policy and political implementation. This means accelerating the rapid introduction of next-generation tools to protect health systems.
