Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand is a society of hand surgeons that work together to improve the professional standing of hand surgery in Europe. FESSH also aims to help its member organisations in promoting the value of hand surgery

The FESSH-EFSHT 2026 Congress began with an inspiring start. ✨

From the Opening Ceremony and Giants' Awards to the first scientific sessions and countless conversations throughout the venue, Wednesday set the tone for an exciting congress week.

During the FESSH-EFSHT 2026 Congress in Basel, the new EBHS Diplomates were officially announced: marking an important milestone after years of dedication, preparation, and hard work. 🙏

We are proud to celebrate this achievement with all of you and to welcome a new group of EBHS Diplomates into the FESSH community. A round of applause on this outstanding accomplishment, and we look forward to following your journey ahead.

What a week in Basel. 🤩

Thank you to everyone who joined the FESSH-EFSHT 2026 Congress — for the inspiring discussions, shared knowledge, new ideas, meaningful conversations, and unforgettable moments throughout the week. 🙏

Together, we welcomed over 3,000 participants from 72 countries, - 2001 surgeons and 592 therapists; shared more than 1,000 scientific presentations, and showcased almost 400 posters, highlighting the incredible breadth and strength of our international hand surgery community.

From scientific sessions and workshops to community events and late-night discussions beyond the lecture halls, Basel once again demonstrated the spirit of collaboration that drives our field forward.

We are grateful to all speakers, participants, committees, partners, organisers, volunteers, and colleagues who helped make this congress such a memorable experience.

At the FESSH-EFSHT 2026 Congress, the FESSH Lounge will become a shared space for conversations, collaboration, new ideas, and community moments, this year together with JHSE. 🙌

Whether you would like to learn more about FESSH activities, connect with colleagues, meet members of the committees, visit the Research Booth, or simply take a short break between sessions, the Lounge will be one of the central gathering points throughout the congress.

The “Pick Our Brain” Research Booth will also return to Basel, giving participants the opportunity to meet members of the FESSH Research Committee and JHSE editors for one-to-one discussions about research ideas, manuscripts, and future projects. 🧠

Sometimes the most valuable moments happen between the sessions.
