Yep, there were actually a few more dots this time than on the otter 😂⁠

For those who didn’t catch it: .v.hofe was kind enough to count the dots for fun on the otter I did for Mat back in February at the Tattoo Moot during the Jorvik Festival. ⁠It wasn’t all that many, and yet it was already 2071 dots for the shading 😅 ⁠

But that’s supposed to be my encouragement to count all these dots here... or is it? 😄⁠

Für die, die es nicht mitbekommen haben: .v.hofe war so lieb und zählte die Punkte zum Spass, des einen Otters welchen ich Mat im Februar beim Tattoo Moot am Jorvik Festival gemacht hatte. ⁠Das war nicht all zu viel und trotzdem bereits 2071 Punkte für die Schattierung 😅 ⁠

Now, strengthened by the Scottish Highland cattle, the accompanying runes and together with the ravens, he is ready to face new challenges 😎⁠

Part 2 of Jasmin’s Celtic Quest! 🙌 | 🇩🇪⬇️⁠

Welcome, traveller, to the continuation of the story from my last post😎⁠

As I mentioned before, I got in touch with someone who has a wealth of knowledge about Celtic art, culture and history. We’d practically agreed on a date to meet up. ⁠
⁠
I informed Jasmin that, for this reason, I would like to reschedule our appointment to a later date, as I saw great potential in this for her tattoo too. She agreed immediately. ⁠
⁠
Another client of mine even gave her his earlier appointment slot. Thank you so much for that!!🙏 However, to keep it brief => contact suddenly broke off and I heard nothing more from this person. So I set to work myself 😂⁠

I simply wanted to gather more knowledge, so I went from library to library. At first without success... BUT THEN!!! The St. Gallen Abbey Library gave me exactly what I needed. ⁠

I immersed myself in the subject matter and designed the start of Jasmin’s Celtic-Noric sleeve.⁠

Willkommen Reisender bei der Fortsetzung der Storytime des letzten Posts😎⁠

Wie bereits erwähnt kam ich in Kontakt mit jemandem mit enormen wissen in Celtic Art, Kultur und Geschichte. Auch ein Tag sich zu treffen war so gut wie vereinbart. ⁠
⁠
Ich informierte Jasmin, dass ich aus diesem Grunde unseren Termin auf ein späteres Datum gerne verschieben würde, da ich tolles Potential auch für ihr Tattoo darin sah. Sie willigte sofort ein. ⁠
⁠
Auch ein anderer Kunde von mir übergab ihr sogar seinen früheren Termin. Danke dir dafür!!🙏 Um es jedoch kurz zu halten => der Kontakt brach plötzlich ab und ich hörte nichts mehr von dieser Person. Also machte ich mich selbst ans Werk 😂⁠

Ich wollte einfach noch mehr Wissen ansammeln also ging ich von Bibliothek zu Bibliothek. Erst ohne Erfolg...DOCH DANN!!! Gab mir die Stiftsbibliothek St. Gallen genau was ich brauchte. ⁠

Ich tauchte in die Materie ein und designte den Beginn des Celtic-Noric Sleeve von Jasmin.⁠

The start of Jasmin’s “Celtic Quest”☘ | 🇩🇪⬇️⁠

Yes, here you can see the design layout, but HOW did it all come about in the first place? That's definitely worth a story 😄 ⁠

So, fellow travellers, let me draw you into this adventure too! Yes, it was adventurous right from the start and definitely trickier than I’d first thought 😂⁠

I've been in touch with Jasmin since the last Irish Open Air festival, and initially the idea was to add a dog in a Celtic style to her existing lettering. After our discussion, it became clear that we were both leaning more and more towards a Celtic-meets-Nordic-style sleeve, which is what we eventually decided on 😄🤝⁠

At first, everything went as usual: the tattoo appointment was booked and we were both looking forward to the session. BUT then what happened?!😂 ⁠
I got in touch with someone with a wealth of knowledge about Celtic art, culture and history.... To be continued 😉⁠

🇩🇪 Der Beginn von Jasmins "Celtic Quest"☘⁠

Yes ihr seht hier zum einen den Designaufbau, doch WIE kam es überhaupt dazu? Definitiv eine Story wert 😄⁠

Als dann Reisender, lasst mich euch nun auch in dieses Abenteuer mit hineinziehen! Yes abenteuerlich war es auch bereits zu Beginn und definitiv auch trickreicher als anfangs gedacht 😂⁠
⁠
Seit dem letzten Irishopenair war ich in Kontakt mit Jasmin aus welchem sich zu Anfangs der Wunsch formte, den Hund im keltischen Stil bei ihrem bereits vorhandenem Schriftzug zu setzen. Nach unserer Besprechung kristalisierte sich heraus, dass wir beide definitiv immer mehr und mehr zu einem celtic -mit nordicstyle mix sleeve tendierten, wofür wir uns dann auch entschieden 😄🤝⁠

Zu Anfang lief alles wie gehabt, Tattootermin vereinbart und wir beide freuten uns schon auf die Session. DOCH was passierte dann?!😂 ⁠

🇬🇧 Lea's Moon Adventure 🌕⁠

By this point, I already knew the background to the symbol thanks to Lea’s input – including her personal background – and also Elin’s input (). More on that later. ⁠
⁠
Lea herself also chose the location for the tattoo based purely on her intention 🌀 It was definitely a great session with her; she lay as still as a stone 😎💪 Thank you for letting me being your shieldbrother on this adventure of yours! 🛡⁠

As for the research I learned from Elin => The symbol itself likely refers to the goddess Hecate, which takes us back to ancient Greece. During the Roman era, this also included Diana and Artemis (take a look at the statues). ⁠
⁠
The symbol itself dates back no further than the 1970s or 80s. ⁠
⁠
But the connection and intention are ancient, and the personal significance for Lea runs surely deeper. I’d definitely love to write more about it, but unfortunately space is limited here 😄⁠

🇩🇪 Lea's Abenteuer des Mondes 🌕

Nun wusste ich bereits die Hintergründe des Zeichens durch die Inputs von Lea inklusive der für sie perönlichen Hintergründe und die Inputs von Elin (). Mehr dazu später.

Lea selbst bestimmte auch den Ort des Tattoos aus reiner Intention 🌀 Es war definitiv eine tolle Session mit ihr, sie lag wie ein Stein 😎💪 Danke für die tolle Zeit mit dir.

Was noch die Researches betrifft: (=>Die Symbologie hinter dem Symbol wird sich wohl auf die Göttin Hecate beziehen, wodurch wir nun im alten Griechenland sind. Während der Römerära bezog dies dann auch Diana und Artemis mitein (schaut euch mal die Statuen an). Das Symbol selbst ist nicht älter als aus den 1970ger der 80iger.

Doch die Connection und Intention ist uralt, sowie auch die persönliche Bedeutung für Lea tiefer ist. Ich würde definitiv gerne noch mehr dazu schreiben, doch ist der Textplatz hier leider begrenzt 😄

Solltet ihr also noch mehr dazu wissen wollen, gebt einfach Bescheid 🤝

The triple moon 🌒🌕🌘

Or as I strangely always had it in mind as: “Tre Luna”
A symbol that holds deep meaning and significance for Lea. I didn’t know much about it beforehand, so I naturally had to learn more before drawing it and the tattoo appointment (and of course I wanted to 😄—I always want to know what i work with), and Elin gave me a huge hand with that 🙏🙏🙏!!!

Oder wie ich es komischer Weise immer im Kopf hatte: "Tre Luna"
Ein Symbol, welches für Lea eine tiefe Bedeutung und Verbindung darstellt. Ich hatte zuvor kein grosses Wissen darüber, wodurch ich mir dieses natürlich vor dem designing und Tattootermin aneignen musste (und natürlich auch wollte 😄 ich will ja wissen was ich kreiere und mit was ich arbeite), bei dem mir Elin tatkräftig unter die Arme griff 🙏🙏🙏!!!

Ah yes, I almost forgot – there was still something missing! 😂 Of course, we were well aware of this, and in the last session we threw ourselves into the quest that was still needed to complete the picture! 💪 ⁠

Jamie's Adventures – Ormens Saga🐉⁠ | 🇩🇪⬇️⁠
⁠
The name of the branch, ‘Ormens Saga’, was chosen by Jamie himself and roughly translates as ‘The Saga of the Dragon / Worm’ – and yes... it sounds absolutely epic! 😎⁠
⁠
We met last year at and it was clear right away: the vibe was a perfect fit 🤝 Jamie also has a strong background in Norse mythology (he studied Nordic studies, specialising in the Sigurd Saga, among other things) and much more! ⁠
⁠
During our meeting, we also gathered some interesting ideas, which we fleshed out together. The runic style was clear from the start 🙌 and I also drew inspiration from the Sigurd runestones. ⁠
⁠
This was followed by some hilarious tattoo sessions 😂 and here we are now: Jamie, who now wears her newly inked arm with pride, filled with personal meanings, and has made these complementary and natural forms her own. Ready to face her next adventures! ⚔⁠

🇩🇪 Jamie's Abenteuer - Ormens Saga🐉⁠

Der Name des Armes "Ormens Saga" wurde durch Jamie selbst verliehen und bedeutet soviel wie "Die Saga des Drachens / Wurmes und yes....hört sich verdammt episch an! 😎⁠
⁠
Wir lernten uns im letzten Jahr an der kennen und man merkte auch hier: der Vibe passte wie die Faust aufs Auge 🤝 Jamie hat ebenfalls einen grossen Backround im nordischen (studierte Nordistik, hat sich unter anderem in der Sigurd Saga spezialisiert) und vieles mehr! ⁠
⁠
Auch im Besprechungstermin, kamen einige Interessante inputs zusammen, welche wir gemeinsam ergäntzten. Urnestyle war von Anfang an klar 🙌 und ebenfalls lies ich mich auch von den Sigurd Runensteinen inspirieren. ⁠
⁠
Danach gefolgt von witzigen Tattoosessions 😂 und nun stehen wir hier: Jamie, welche nun ihren neu gerüsteten Arm mit und an sich trägt, gefüllt voller persönlicher Bedeutungen, nun sie ergänzenden und natürlichen Formen ihr Eigen nennt. Bereit ihren nächsten Abenteuern entgegen zu treten! ⚔⁠
