Ecstatic Dance is an active meditation and movement practice where you allow your body to move with the music to release stress and find inner balance.

Our events are drug-, alcohol-, and substance-free, creating a safe, conscious space where everyone is welcome. Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during your dance journey. Das Tanzfest Winterthur where hearts love to dance

Thank you to everyone who came to dance with us Das Tanzfest Winterthur this year! So grateful to contribute to this wonderful festival for dancers of all styles, cultures, and communities from around the world.

We love that Ecstatic Dance is a practice that’s open to everyone, regardless of their dance experience, without choreography, pressure, or expectations. You can come as you are, move as you feel like on that day, and leave in whatever way feels right to you.

In July and August, you will find us at Rosengarten Winterthur dancing with headphones! Sunsets loading… 🤩🎧🌻

PS: We generally don’t allow photos and videos during our dances. About 1x/yr, we take photos to share what happens behind our doors, so those who haven’t experienced Ecstatic Dance yet get an idea of the beautiful space we’re creating together (and maybe bust some weird woo woo or esoteric myths 😅). All dancers were informed and were able to opt out, if they didn’t want to be in the footage.

This will be our last dance in this location, where we started with 12 people (10 of which were my friends and family 😅) in October 2024.

We will be moving into a bigger space after summer, which we are very excited about! Details coming soon.

is an organization founded by in Congo who create safe spaces for children to dance. They use dance to spread joy, but also as therapy to give them the opportunity to process their pain. Pain from losing their parents, friends, from the war in general, some ending up on the street.

The organization also provides food and clothing whenever needed, with the vision to eventually create a shelter for the kids.

Part of our compensation from our event at this Monday will go to this cause, to help them build a new dance space after the one they had got destroyed in the war.

So excited to collaborate with ! Fazil will lead our warm-up on Monday, April 25, and will help us connect with the body in the present moment, before we dance to an Afro set.

is a Ugandan-born Swiss based choreographer, activist, dance and sound artist. He studied art and psychology and currently lives in Zurich.

His practice is predominantly developed in dance theatre and performance art, stimulating audiences through multidisciplinary works presented in conventional, unconventional, and digital spaces.

Fazil describes himself as a rebel artist. Through his work, he interprets, reflects on, and gives voice to the present, drawing inspiration from lived realities and, in particular, pressing political issues.

He believes that theatre is a vital tool for community intervention, engagement, and empowerment.

You can also catch his own performance „Black Skinned, White Masked“ this Sunday , April 24, at 6 PM at Theater am Gleis.
