Not everyone who wants to deepen their yoga practice wants to become a yoga teacher.

Sometimes, you simply want to understand more.

Why alignment matters.
How breath influences your practice.
What makes a posture feel stable and sustainable.
How to practise with more confidence, both in class and on your own.

This training was created for practitioners who are curious, committed, and ready to go beyond the weekly class, without committing to a full 200H Teacher Training.

Over one immersive weekend, we explore the foundations that support a lifelong practice: alignment, anatomy, pranayama, awareness, and a deeper understanding of yoga as a whole.

If you have ever felt there was more to yoga than simply following along, this training may be for you.

The pose that reminds you there is more than one way to see things.

Most of us move through life looking straight ahead.

Same routines. Same habits. Same perspectives.

Parivrtta Parsvakonasana, or Revolved Side Angle Pose, asks for something different. It asks you to stay grounded while you twist. To find stability while looking somewhere new. To create space in the body and perhaps a little space in the mind too.

It’s not a pose that gives itself away easily. Strength in the legs. Stability through the core. Openness through the chest. A steady breath throughout.

Try it at home:
Step one foot forward into a lunge. Bring your opposite hand to the floor or a block beside the front foot. Rotate your chest open and extend the top arm towards the sky. Press firmly through both feet and lengthen through the spine. Breathe steadily and come out slowly.

Benefits:
• Strengthens the legs, hips and core
• Improves balance and stability
• Encourages mobility through the spine and shoulders
• Stimulates digestion through gentle compression and release
• Builds focus, concentration and body awareness

A reminder that sometimes growth is not about pushing harder.

Matsyasana or Fish Pose - The pose that undoes everything modern life does to your chest.

We hunch forward. We stare at screens. We round our shoulders. We close our hearts sometimes literally, sometimes not.

Matsyasana asks you to do the opposite. To open. To expose the throat and chest. To be a little vulnerable on your mat so you carry a little less closed-off energy through your day.

Try it at home: Lie on your back, legs extended. Place your hands under your hips, palms down. Press your elbows into the floor and lift your chest. Rest the crown of your head gently on the floor. Hold for a few breaths. Come out slowly and lie flat.

Benefits:
• Deep opening of the chest and throat
• Stimulates the thyroid, wonderful for energy and metabolism
• Counterpose to shoulder and neck tension
• In Yin practice, held longer for deep connective tissue release

One of those poses that feels strange the first time and essential by the tenth.
