Today, we observe World Food Safety Day β and at ISDI, it's more than a date on the calendar.
Every day, millions of people face the risks of unsafe food β from contaminated crops to poorly handled animal products. Food safety is directly linked to healthy ecosystems, sustainable farming, and animal welfare β the very pillars of ISDI's mission.
This year's theme, "Safe Food Today for a Healthy Tomorrow", reminds us that the choices we make today β in our farms, markets, and kitchens β shape the health of generations to come.
We call on communities, farmers, policymakers, and partners to:
β
Adopt safe and sustainable agricultural practices
β
Ensure livestock health and traceability
β
Protect the natural ecosystems that feed us
β
Educate communities about food safety standards
Together, we can build a food system that is safe, fair, and sustainable for all.
