Joyceline began her entrepreneurial journey by establishing Beauty Lab, a salon offering hairstyling, braiding, and beauty care. Before receiving support, she employed seven young women but struggled to expand, as most of her income was reinvested into materials, equipment, and meeting staff needs.

Through the EEE-P grant from Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), Joyceline acquired professional hair-care products, styling equipment, and business materials.

As a result, Joyceline's income increased from Monthly income increased from about 40,000 FCFA to approximately 100,000 FCFA.
Her staff also grew from 7 to11, with peaks of up to 30 including trainees during busy seasons.

Joyceline’s improved income has allowed her to contribute to household meals for her siblings, support her parents with school fees, and fully cover a relative’s final year of secondary school fees, with plans to sponsor their university studies

From Crisis to Comeback: The Walla Bidou Story

In Cameroon's Far North Region, the cooperative Walla Bidou meaning "No Hunger", spent four years fighting food insecurity through pig farming. Then a severe swine disease outbreak wiped out their livestock and threatened everything they'd built.

That's when support arrived. 🌱

A 2,000,000 FCFA grant from Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), under the Education and Economic Empowerment Project (EEE-P) with support from the Mastercard Foundation, helped them restart pig farming and take a bold new step into fish farming.

That decision changed everything.

Today, Walla Bidou is thriving: flourishing fishponds, a recovering pig herd, diversified income, and 7 new jobs for young people — plus greater access to affordable protein for the whole community. 🎣

"No Hunger" is no longer just a name. It's a promise fulfilled. 💚

Recently, quality reassessments were conducted at Bamenda Regional Hospital, Limbe Regional Hospital, Buea Regional Hospital, and the National Early Infant Diagnosis Reference Laboratory in Mutengene. The reassessments were led by the South African
National Accreditation System (SANAS) and supported by Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) through the CDC/PEPFAR-funded Strengthening Public Health Laboratory Systems project, with the aim of renewing ISO 15189:2022 accreditation.

The reassessment process reinforced the implementation of quality management systems, strengthened staff competency, and promoted the continued delivery of accurate, reliable,
and timely laboratory services. All identified non-conformities will be addressed within the stipulated timelines to ensure sustained compliance with ISO 15189:2022 requirements, maintain accreditation status, and further improve patient care outcomes.
