The birds will appreciate high fat foods during the winter.

We've been carefully watching the forecast, and the best we can do is play it by ear. Depending on *when* the forecasted freezing rain arrives on Saturday, we may be closed for all or part of the day. This *might* even extend into the beginning of next week, depending on conditions.

So our best recommendation is to call the store at 910-246-0002 and if we answer, we are open. If we don't answer, we are more than likely closed.

Keep in mind this freezing rain will make it incredibly challenging for the birds to find enough food. Everything may be covered in a thick coating of ice. PLUS the birds will need up to 40x more calories in those frigid conditions. Please consider coming in Thursday or Friday to stock up on seed and suet (high fat food like suet will be extremely important!) to help our dear feathered friends survive what could be a very difficult few days.

We have reached 68 smiles in our endeavor to raise funds for Smile Train. Each month, the first $250.oo in revenue from the Seven Lakes classes will go to Smile Train. That will take us to our goal faster and we are already pretty darn close for September! For friends living in the Seven Lakes community join us on Wednesdays.

Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, with a sustainable and local model of supporting surgery and other forms of essential care. Happy New Year! Here’s a report on our fund-raising efforts:
Our Smile Train Fund increased by $1127.oo in 2024! That brings our total to $16,250.oo which represents 65 new smiles for children with cleft lip/cleft palate.
We raised $685.oo for UMCOR Hurricane Helene relief. $320.oo was donated to Samaritan’s Purse for hurricane relief in honor of my students for Christmas.
Our regular schedule resumes January 7. Classes are still just $10.oo. I hope to see you in class. Post below or text me if you have any questions.
