Being True To You

Being True To You A network of Psychedelic Integration + Transformational Recovery coaches helping others. Sessions are held by phone or video, at a pace that fits your life.

Being True To You offers preparation and integration coaching for people going through psychedelic therapy, alternative treatment programs, or recovery — and training for those who feel called to do this work themselves. Deanne Adamson founded Being True To You in 2010, when almost nobody was offering structured support for what happens after a profound experience. What began with one coach is now

a nationwide team, each with their own specialization and their own road through this work. Our coaches help people use a hard season — addiction, loss, upheaval — as a starting point rather than an ending. That means inner work: mind, body and spirit. It also means outward work: purpose, direction, and a life that matches what you actually value. Being True To You coaches are not counselors or mental health professionals. We do not assess, diagnose or treat, and coaching does not replace professional medical care. Being True To You does not approve, suggest, source or refer psychedelic substances or providers. Call or email — we'd love to hear from you. (833) 379-0070 · [email protected] · www.beingtruetoyou.com

The breakthrough is not the hard part. What comes after it is.

People come home holding something real, and nobody to help them carry it. Weeks pass, the insight thins out, the old patterns return. That gap is where an integration coach works.

Our Transformational & Psychedelic Integration Coach Certification is the first training of its kind in this field, running since 2013 and now in its sixth edition, with more than 1,500 graduates.

Orientation is on September 9. Lecture 1 begins September 14.

Being True To You certification is a professional coaching credential, not a state license or clinical/medical qualification; Being True To You coaches are not counselors or mental health professionals and do not assess, diagnose, or treat conditions.

Integration starts the moment you say yes to a journey, so before you get there.

The biggest misunderstanding people have about integration?
It starts afterwards
It happens in one follow up session
It’s the same as the closing ceremony or follow up support call
It’s just a few days or few sessions
It’s just about self-care
It only happens if you liked your journey
It’s only important if you know immediately what to integrate

Instead, integration is the purpose of journey work:
It starts before the journey and continues long after
It includes mind, heart, body, and life cultivation
There are acute and long-term phases
The insights are plenty, the work ongoing
Whatever you set out to achieve, happens in integration

Integration is a process.

Follow Being True To You to learn what meaningful integration really looks like.

When a client's work or tears surface, much of this field reaches for more medicine, more tools, more techniques.
What that says is: I do not know how to just sit with you.

Experienced practitioners come to us all the time.
Cognitive work, bodywork, energy work, breathwork, long lists of certifications.

We often hear the same thing:
It’s hard to get clients to trust the process and commit.
I don’t always know what to say when clients are still hurting.
I’m not sure how to package and sell my services.

What is missing is the heart-to-heart connection, and no profession is teaching it.

What do you think is the most important skill in helping another person?

The modern world offers treatments, technologies, medicines, and a growing range of transformational tools.
What the helping industries do not have is a profession dedicated to the inner experience.

This gap is what integration coaching fills.

We do not sell cures and we do not heal or fix people.

A coach helps their client activate their own work and stays with them while they do it; this personal effort decides whether anything holds.

Anyone called to this work can train for it.

Original, most recognized, industry approved, integration coach training & certification. Est. 2013. 6th edition. 1,500 trained.

Built in the trenches; a transformational model for the human condition and experience.

Everyone says you have to do the work.
Almost nobody can tell you what the work is.

Alina Vera Love of Integrate The Journey put that question to Deanne Adamson, and this was the answer.

I used to ask people in recovery, and they would say: going to meetings, talking with my counselor, putting down a substance. All good things, and all of them the external form that supports the work rather than the work itself.

The work starts with getting honest with yourself.
Where are my thoughts leading me astray?
Where are my habits sabotaging me?
Where am I falling short of my own integrity?

And it is interpersonal.
We come here together and we hurt each other together, so repair happens together too.
Every interaction is where the work lives.

Know someone on their own path of transformation?
Send this their way.

Being True To You coaches are not counselors or mental health professionals; coaches do not assess, diagnose, or treat conditions, and do not replace professional medical care.

Most people who go into helping professions never get taught the difference between helping and actually serving.

Helping sees it as a weakness.
Fixing sees it as broken.
Serving sees it as whole.

Helping and fixing come from the ego.
Service comes from the soul.

This distinction, drawn from Rachel Naomi Remen, sits at the center of what we teach.

If you've spent years helping or fixing and sensed there was a deeper way to show up for people, this training is built around finding it.

"Do I have to take psychedelics to do this?"

No.
And this is one of the most common questions we get, so let's clear it up for good.

We train coaches in preparation and integration, not facilitation.
Someone's path might involve breathwork.

It might involve a ketamine session under a licensed provider.
It might just be a hard conversation they've been avoiding for years.
That choice belongs to them, not to you.

Your job as a coach isn't to guide the therapy or tool.
It's to support the transformation, whatever shape that takes.

If that's the kind of work you're built for, book at discovery call with us through the link below to learn more about the Transformational and Psychedelic Integration Coach Training.

There's a lot of confusion about what this work actually is, mostly because people assume it's therapy, a quick fix, or the latest wellness trend wearing a new name.

Well…, NO.

Coaching isn't a replacement for clinical care, and it isn't a shortcut.
It's a practice built on personal responsibility, character, and doing your own work, something Being True To You has been training coaches and clients to do for sixteen years.

"Do I need a degree to be qualified to coach people through psychedelic integration?"

We hear this one constantly, in the comments, in DMs, in our discovery calls.

Here's the honest answer.

Some of our coaches came from psychology, medicine, and counseling.
Others came from teaching, sales, ministry, or years spent raising a family.
None of that is the qualifying factor.

What makes someone qualified was never the diploma on the wall.
It's the willingness to do their own work first, so they can hold space for someone else doing theirs.

If that's you, the door is open.
