Acupuncture Unexpectedly Helped a Patient with Renal Failure Pass Urine

A 54-year-old male patient with renal failure had been undergoing hemodialysis two to three times a week for four years. He was essentially anuric.
One month ago, he developed pain in his left knee joint that was unbearable on movement, and he also had mild edema in both lower limbs. Because he was afraid of taking medication, he sought acupuncture treatment.

The selected acupoints were:
ST36 (Zusanli) and SP10 (Xuehai), treated with Zha Tiao (muscle-twisting needling technique) and electrical stimulation;
SP8 (Diji), SP6 (Sanyinjiao), and KI3 (Taixi), treated with Zha Tiao (muscle-twisting needling technique).

After the first treatment, his symptoms improved. After the second treatment, the pain was markedly alleviated, and he was able to pass about 200 mL of urine. He was overjoyed, as he had not passed urine for several years.

The patient presented with pain from a lateral ankle sprain.
Treatments: Insert the needles at Zusanli (ST36) and Zulinqi (GB41) with Zha Tiao (Muscle-Twisting Needling Technique) and electrical stimulation.
After one session, most of the pain was relieved. 👍👍

Modern Abdominal Diagnosis and Acupuncture for Low Back Pain
Right-sided low back pain for 3 days, with a past history of L5/S1 disc herniation surgery.
Abdominal diagnosis findings: Tenderness at the right immune area, inguinal ligament, and GB26 (Daimai) acupoint area.
Treatment: Bilateral immune points; right-side KI7 (Fuliu), SP9 (Yinlingquan), ST13 (Qihu), and GB26 (Daimai)
After needling, the abdominal signs disappeared, and the low back pain improved significantly. Examination showed no tenderness. No special local treatment was applied.
