Do You Know?
The true revolution of mascara (eye-related cosmetic) products came from Ancient Egypt.
Eyelash and eyelid products contained the substance called kohl (one of the most widely used cosmetic products in ancient Egypt, it made from charcoal or soot, honey, water and strangely enough, from crocodile stool). They used it to darken eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows, protect them from harmful dust and microorganisms blown by the wind, and of course, this substance and accompanying applying ritual was a part of their religion.
With the Egyptian influence and advancements in the field of chemistry and cosmetic production, it was not strange to see that their products managed to spread beyond their borders and find a home in the world. And Mascara represented a very important part of every woman's cosmetic collection, and the illusion of dark and long eyelashes has become their obsession.
