Red and near-infrared light in the 600-1000 nm range had been approved by NASA and FDA to use to treat humans and pets. The light is absorbed by tissues and cells, triggering physiological responses that reduce pain and inflammation. There are still some contraindications, including the following points:

1. Do not use it on infants and young children.
2. Do not use in the eye area: Red light therapy pads should not shine directly into the eyes as the bright light may cause damage to the eyes.
3. Not for use by cancer patients: Certain types of cancer cells are sensitive to light and may grow or spread when exposed to light.
4. Do not use on infected or inflamed skin: If infection or significant inflammation is present on the skin, red light therapy pads may exacerbate the condition or cause discomfort.
5. Not for use by pregnant and nursing women: At this time there is not enough research evidence to determine the safety of the Flexible Red Light Therapy Pad for pregnant and nursing women.
6. It cannot be used in patients with bleeding tendency: the treatment will promote blood circulation, such as hemophiliac, it is not recommended to use it, so as not to increase the risk of bleeding.
7. Do not use it if your skin is light sensitive or you are currently using medication that may cause sensitivity of the skin to light.
