IMDI’s mission is to coordinate academia based translational and clinical research conducted by motivated investigators, minimizing the commercial bias, resulting with significant, high impact publications based on pooled patient cohorts from several countries. Thus, IMDI is neither a CRO (contract research organization) nor an executor of commercial-based clinical trials, but a collaboration coordinator of multicentric translational and clinical pilot studies with research priorities defined by the partner research groups with patients’ benefit as the central goal. An important part of IMDI’s mission is to educate a new generation of scientists and medical doctors and thus provide partner institutions with young collaborators with advanced knowledge, skills and autonomous analytic thinking by boosting their career development through IMDI Career Promotion Platform.
