Fasting. Some benefit, others suffer.
I'll tell you my story now.
Fasting isn't a question of willpower. It's a tool. And like any tool, some help, others harm. Ayurveda knew this three thousand years ago. It was called Langhana. Relieving therapy.
So. Who does it work for?
Kapha. Dense, sluggish, prone to weight gain. You eat and then want to lie down. That's what fasting is for you. It lights your proper fire, flushes out toxins, and stirs up that frozen microwave. One fasting day a week—warm water with ginger and honey, or kitchari. That's yours.
Pitta. Fire. Everything burns, digests, and boils. But you shouldn't fast on water—the gastric fire starts to burn itself without food. Acidity, irritability, heartburn. Sound familiar? Here you go. You need a gentle detox: cooling juices, coconut kitchari, warm milk with ghee. Not fasting—relief.
Vata. Thin, anxious, and easily fatigued. Listen—you don't need to fast. Here you go. Fasting will increase anxiety, disrupt sleep, and deplete the body. Classic texts clearly state: with excess Vata, there's the opposite langhan. Your detox: eliminate sugar and fast food, eat warm foods regularly. That's all.
⚠️ And one more thing. Even for Kapha, fasting is only suitable when there's strength. An exhausted person is not a candidate for fasting, no matter what their dosha.
Fasting is educational in nature. In-depth knowledge about the connection between psychics and doshas.
