Four days in Brno, from perforator mapping with color Doppler ultrasound to complete flap-to-defect reconstructions on our new skin-to-skin platform.
Day 1 · Oct 3: Workshop on preoperative perforator mapping + Mini-Symposium keynote lectures
Day 2 · Oct 4: Trunk, upper limb & hand
Day 3 · Oct 5: Abdomen, groin, thigh, buttock & lower limb
Day 4 · Oct 6: Skin-to-skin sessions for lower limb, head & neck and nasal reconstruction
Every flap is demonstrated live by JP Hong, Marco Innocenti, Filip Stillaert, Andrés Rodríguez-Lorenzo, Adam Bajus, Luboš Dražan and Libor Streit, then dissected by you at the table.
Evenings belong to Brno: a welcome dinner at Špilberk Castle, a guided tour of the Mendel Museum & Basilica, and dinner with faculty at Mendel’s Greenhouse 🍷

We’re proud to welcome Prof. Marco Innocenti to the Brno Flap Course faculty!
Marco is Director of Clinic IV - Orthoplasty at the Rizzoli Institute in Bologna, and Full Professor of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the University of Florence, where he also directs the Unit of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and Microsurgery at Careggi University Hospital. His work centers on orthoplastic reconstruction, combining vascularized fibula transfer with microsurgical flaps to restore complex bone and limb defects after tumor resection, often alongside functional tendon reconstruction.

We’re proud to welcome Filip Stillaert to the Brno Flap Course faculty!
Based at Ghent University Hospital in Belgium, Filip is part of one of Europe’s most respected microsurgery teams, with a distinguished record in autologous breast reconstruction, lipofilling and reconstructive surgery of the body and limbs. His work is especially known for the DIEP flap and the lumbar artery perforator (LAP) flap, often combined with fat grafting to help achieve a natural shape, softness and symmetry.

Curious what the Brno Flap Course 2026 actually involves?
Here’s how October 3–6 unfolds!

Day 1 — Saturday | The foundations
We open with a Mini-Symposium on Reconstructive Microsurgery — keynote lectures at the Masaryk University campus that turn theory into something you can take straight to the table. Running alongside it: a hands-on workshop on preoperative perforator-flap diagnostics and microvascular anastomosis at SIMU, one of Europe’s most advanced simulation centres. Then we kick things off properly with the Course Opening and Welcome Dinner. 🍷

Days 2–4 — Sunday to Tuesday | Hands-on cadaver dissection
Three full days in the anatomy lab, each topic introduced and demonstrated by our experts — then it’s your turn, dissecting simultaneously. You’ll work across an exceptionally broad flap menu: trunk, abdomen & groin, upper limb & hand, lower limb, face & head, and facial reanimation donor procedures.

✦ New for 2026 — our “skin-to-skin” platform, taking you through the complete journey: harvest, transfer, anastomosis, and final inset.
And it’s not all work — Day 3 brings dinner with the faculty, our friendly Quiz on Reconstructive Microsurgery, and awards for the quiz winners and the Best Flap Dissection. 🏆

We close together on Day 4, hopefully with a few new techniques and a lot of new friends.
