A STUDY IN ANALOGUE MASS

„The Aerolith“ was developed around a central question: how much unnecessary influence can be removed from analogue playback before only the essential remains?

Its construction follows a highly controlled mechanical approach. Mass, decoupling, bearing architecture, and tonearm geometry are not treated as isolated features, but as interacting parts of a larger system designed to maintain stability under real listening conditions.

At the same time, „The Aerolith“ was never intended to disappear visually. Its proportions, material presence, and architectural form are very much part of the experience. A turntable designed not only to perform with precision, but also to occupy space with intention.

The people behind Einstein: VOLKER BOHLMEIER

Some ideas can’t be reduced to specifications alone. For Volker, good audio design has always been connected to consistency, longevity, and a clear internal philosophy. From the very first Einstein amplifier to today’s developments, the goal was never to chase trends or create an artificial sound signature, but to build components that remain convincing over time.

What connects all Einstein products is not identical technology, but a shared way of thinking: clarity without exaggeration, technical precision without unnecessary complexity, and systems designed to remain relevant long after their release.

A recognizable signature doesn’t happen by accident. It develops over decades of decisions, refinement, and continuity.

Stay tuned for who‘s next…!👀

ONE DEVICE. ONE DECISION.

For many listeners, the Silver Bullet and Black Shadow simplify something that often becomes overly complicated in high-end audio: building a coherent system.

No searching for matching combinations, no uncertainty about compatibility, no endless chain of separate components. Everything is developed to work together from the start, both technically and musically.

This creates a different kind of listening experience. Less time spent adjusting the system, more time actually using it.

For some, it’s the first step into high-end audio.
For others, it’s the point where they decide they no longer need anything more complex.

THE PHILOSOPHY IN ONE COMPONENT

“The Silver Shadow“ and “The Black Shadow“ represent a particularly clear expression of the Einstein approach to audio design. Rather than separating functions across multiple devices, both concepts combine amplification, control, and musical coherence within a single component.

The idea is not convenience for its own sake. It is about reducing complexity where possible, shortening signal paths, and creating a system that works as a unified whole from the very beginning.

Compact in form, but developed with the same standards applied across all Einstein products, these all-in-one solutions carry the same recognizable signature that has shaped our philosophy for decades: stability, clarity, and consistency without unnecessary distraction.

Sometimes, less really is more.

ONE SYSTEM, MANY PERSPECTIVES

During a gathering at our studio FINEST, this setup remained deliberately unchanged. “The Aerolith“ and “The Megalith“ formed a constant reference point throughout – designed for stability and consistent performance.

What changed was everything around it. A continuous flow of conversations, shifting expectations, and an evolving selection of records shaped how the system was experienced over time.

Different music, different perspectives, different listening habits, all meeting the same setup. Not to impress in a single moment, but to show how it responds across a wide range of inputs.

Feel free to visit, take a seat, and experience it in person.

FINEST – LISTENING SESSIONS

Our space at FINEST has become a place for regular listening sessions and open exchange. People come together to listen, compare, discuss – sometimes focused, sometimes simply out of curiosity.

There’s no strict format. Some evenings revolve around new ideas or setups, others around familiar recordings heard in a different context. Conversations move naturally between technical details and personal impressions, shaped by whoever happens to be in the room.

From time to time, a small group gathers (occasionally referred to as the “Selbsthilfegruppe” – for obvious reasons), but the space itself remains open, informal, and welcoming to anyone interested.

We’re continuing to develop this place and always happy to welcome new visitors. Just give us a call and pick a time to stop by.

There’s always something worth listening to.

SHANGHAI SETUP

This system was installed in Shanghai as part of a series of international demonstrations, where we work closely with local partners to create controlled listening environments.

The setup followed the same principles we apply everywhere: defined signal paths, mechanical stability, careful component matching, and precise positioning within the room. Each element is placed with intention, ensuring consistent performance regardless of location.

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to present our systems in Shanghai and many other places around the world. Looking back, it’s not just the systems we remember – but the people, the discussions, and the shared focus on sound.

IT STARTS BEFORE THE FIRST NOTE

Which recording, which pressing, the condition of the vinyl. Decisions that often remain in the background, yet have a significant impact on what will eventually be heard.

Then comes the setup. Tracking force, geometry, small adjustments to the tonearm. The calibration of the turntable, the stability of the mechanics, the precision in every detail. A record player is not a static object, but a system that requires understanding and fine-tuning.

Moments like these are part of our demonstrations in the showroom and during the Listening Salon. It’s not just about presenting a product, but about making the process behind the sound tangible. About understanding how many small decisions come together before music truly unfolds.

The result is not visually spectacular.
But it is clearly audible.

And sometimes, it’s simply a matter of knowing exactly where to make the right adjustment — like Volker does. ;)

EINSTEIN LISTENING SALON

THOMAS ERKELENZ
