13. September | 15:00 - 16:00

In this Open Session, Serkong Rinpoche will speak about “Inner Transformation” as a central aspect of Buddhist practice. He will explore how working with our mind can help us recognize and gradually transform unhelpful patterns of thought and behavior. This one-hour talk offers inspiration on how inner transformation can lead to greater clarity, compassion, and a more conscious way of living.

The third and the last series for now, is about great Tibetan masters from the Gelugpa tradition.

First amongst them are the great Tsongkhapa and his heart sons. Prophesied by the Buddha and Guru Rinpoche of becoming an unstoppable force of Dharma, the life of the great Tsongkhapa is equal to the lives of the great Indian masters. Considered to be one of the greatest emanations of Manjushri, he is credited to have revitalised Tibetan Buddhism by gathering the essential teachings of many existing traditions in Tibet and presenting them in a unique way. The life of Je Rinpoche and his heart sons are full of inspiration and blessing.

After this we will talk about two great reincarnation lineages that came from this great tradition, starting with the First His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the First His Holiness the Panchen Lama. For centuries these two Tulku lineages have worked hand in hand to alleviate the suffering of all beings and in particular of Tibetans.

Their name and their image have now become synonymous with the identity of Tibet and Tibetans.

Exhibition Opening | 7:30pm on Friday, 28.8.26

The idea for a series of pencil portraits of Buddhist Teachers arose from the author’s desire to express, in the language of traditional Western pencil drawing, what he felt while looking at photographs and videos of Dharma Teachers—their boundless kindness and love, patience, and compassion radiating from their images. The author primarily wanted to depict those Teachers who influenced him as a follower of Buddha dharma through reading books, listening to audio recordings, and watching videos.

These were Teachers of various traditions: Theravada, Japanese and Vietnamese Zen, and various Vajrayana schools. After some time, the author realized that there were many Teachers whose portraits he wanted to paint, so the idea arose to paint 108 portraits through which the author wants to convey to the viewer the light that emanates from these Teachers, and perhaps his works will be able to inspire some of the viewers to meet one of them personally, and awaken interest in the Precious Words of Buddha.

Freitag 31.

7pm FRIDAY, 17 JULY

Celebration: Contemporary Expressions
Exhibition Opening and talk | Ngoshi Choedon (e)

This exhibition brings together fragments of thoughts, memories, and emotions that she has carried within her over time. The works do not follow a clear narrative; rather, they exist side by side like a quiet inner landscape—a space in which her thoughts slow down and find their own rhythm. She works with paper because it feels intuitive and close to her. There is something almost magical about creating something new from fragments that once existed separately. Cutting and layering paper reflect the way she moves through life—step by step, sometimes uncertain, yet always learning. Through this process, she reconnects with her culture, her past, and with those parts of herself that continue to hold meaning as life constantly evolves.

This exhibition is not about finding answers. It is about living with questions, listening inward, and learning to move forward through a quiet, ongoing engagement with herself.

The exhibition will be on view at Tibethaus until Sunday, 16 August.

Time | 19 until 21 CET
