📍 IVRT Knowledge Blog:
Dizziness during pregnancy is not uncommon.
A recent review highlights the challenges in managing vestibular migraine, Ménière’s disease, and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) during gestation, and outlines how safety for both mother and child can be ensured.
Non-pharmacological approaches are considered the gold standard: vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is safe and effective in all trimesters. Medications should only be considered in cases of significant symptom burden and after interdisciplinary consultation (e.g., gynecology/neurology).
With careful diagnostics and an individually tailored treatment plan, management during pregnancy can remain safe for both mother and child.
