THE β€œFART WALK” πŸ˜„πŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Yes… that is really what social media is calling it.

But behind the funny name is actually a very simple habit:

Take a short, gentle walk after eating.

Why are people talking about it?

Because walking after a meal may help your muscles use some of the glucose entering your bloodstream.

That can help reduce the size of the blood-sugar rise after eating.

And you do NOT need:

❌ 10,000 steps
❌ A gym
❌ An intense workout
❌ An hour of exercise

Try something simple:

🍽️ Finish your meal

πŸ‘Ÿ Put on your shoes

πŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Walk comfortably for around 10–15 minutes

Then continue with your day.

The goal is not to β€œburn off” your food.

It is simply to MOVE instead of immediately sitting for the next few hours.

And if 10 minutes feels like too much?

Start with 5.

Small habits count.

Funny name.

Useful idea.

MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE FOR SLEEP πŸŒ™

It seems to be everywhere right now.

But can magnesium glycinate actually help you sleep better?

Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in normal muscle and nerve function, blood-pressure regulation, blood-sugar control and many other processes in the body.

And recently, magnesium glycinate has become especially popular as part of evening and sleep routines.

Some research suggests magnesium supplementation may modestly improve sleep in certain people β€” particularly when magnesium intake is low β€” but it is not a guaranteed treatment for insomnia.

So think of it as a POSSIBLE SUPPORT, not a magic sleeping pill.

A better evening foundation still includes:

πŸŒ™ A consistent sleep schedule
πŸ“΅ Less late-night screen stimulation
β˜• Limiting caffeine later in the day
🧘🏾 Managing stress
πŸ₯— Good overall nutrition
πŸ’€ Giving yourself enough time to sleep

And remember: you can also get magnesium naturally from foods such as nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains and leafy greens.

If you are considering a magnesium supplement, especially if you have kidney problems or take medication, speak with an appropriate healthcare professional.

CREATINE AFTER 40 πŸ’ͺ🏾

For years, creatine was marketed mainly to bodybuilders and gym enthusiasts.

But the conversation is changing.

More women β€” especially in their 40s, 50s and beyond β€” are becoming interested in creatine for strength, muscle maintenance and healthy ageing.

Creatine helps your muscles produce energy during short, demanding activities such as resistance training.

And as we get older, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important.

The key?

Creatine works best as part of the bigger picture:

πŸ’ͺ🏾 Strength training
πŸ₯— Good nutrition
πŸ₯š Enough protein
😴 Recovery and sleep
πŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Regular movement

And you do not need an expensive β€œwomen’s creatine.”

Creatine monohydrate is the most widely studied form.

If you are thinking about taking a supplement, especially if you have a medical condition or take medication, discuss it with an appropriate healthcare professional.

The goal is not to become a bodybuilder.

The goal is to help protect the strength you want to carry into the years ahead.

🌿 FIBERMAXXING: A TREND ACTUALLY WORTH KNOWING

Protein has had the spotlight for years β€” but fibre is having its moment.

β€œFibermaxxing” simply means becoming more intentional about eating fibre-rich foods.

Think:
🫘 Beans & lentils
πŸ₯£ Oats
🫐 Berries & fruit
πŸ₯¦ Vegetables
πŸ₯‘ Avocado
πŸ₯œ Nuts & seeds
🌾 Whole grains

Why does fibre matter?

It can support healthy digestion and gut health, help you stay fuller for longer, and contribute to healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

But here’s the important part:

Don’t suddenly overload your diet with fibre.

Increase it gradually and remember to drink enough water. Your digestive system needs time to adjust.

You don’t need to follow every nutrition trend.

Sometimes the best β€œtrend” is simply getting back to real, nourishing food. 🌿

WELLNESS STACKING 🌿

What if getting healthier did not require finding another hour in your day?

That is the idea behind wellness stacking.

Instead of treating every healthy habit as a separate task, combine a few simple habits into one routine.

For example:

πŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Walk while listening to something relaxing

πŸ’§ Drink water with your morning routine

πŸ₯š Add protein to the breakfast you already eat

🧘🏾 Stretch for a few minutes while your tea or coffee is preparing

πŸ“΅ Take a short screen break while stepping outside for fresh air

The goal is NOT to fit 10 wellness trends into 20 minutes.

The goal is to make healthy habits easier to repeat.

Try this simple stack:

MOVE + HYDRATE + NOURISH + RESET

Small habits.

One routine.

Repeated consistently.

That can be much more realistic than trying to completely change your lifestyle overnight.

RUCKING: THE WALKING TREND THAT ADDS A LITTLE MORE CHALLENGE πŸŽ’πŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Yesterday we talked about making your walk more intentional.

Today, here is another walking trend:

Rucking.

Rucking simply means walking while carrying some extra weight, usually in a backpack or weighted vest.

Why are people doing it?

Because adding a little resistance can make an ordinary walk more challenging.

It may help increase:

βœ… Exercise intensity
βœ… Energy expenditure
βœ… Muscle engagement
βœ… Cardiovascular demand
βœ… Functional strength

The important word is:

GRADUAL.

You do not need to load a heavy backpack on your first day.

Start light.

Walk comfortably.

Pay attention to your posture.

And gradually increase the challenge only if your body tolerates it well.

A simple beginner approach:

πŸŽ’ Start with a light load
🚢🏾 Walk for 10–20 minutes
🧍🏾 Keep your posture upright
πŸ‘Ÿ Wear comfortable footwear
πŸ“ˆ Build gradually

Rucking is not a magic weight-loss method.

It is simply one way to make walking a little more demanding.

And sometimes that is exactly what you need to keep your routine interesting.

LYMPHATIC WALKING πŸŒΏπŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Have you heard about the latest walking trend?

It is called lymphatic walking.

The idea is simple:

Walk at a comfortable pace while paying more attention to your posture, breathing and natural arm movement.

Your lymphatic system does not have a pump like your heart. Movement and muscle activity help lymph fluid move through the body.

A simple lymphatic-style walk might look like this:

🌿 Stand tall and relaxed
🌿 Take slow, deeper breaths
🌿 Allow your arms to swing naturally
🌿 Walk at a comfortable, steady pace
🌿 Relax your shoulders and keep moving

You do not need special equipment.

You do not need an expensive wellness routine.

And you do not need to make it complicated.

Regular walking itself is already an excellent form of movement, and there is currently no strong evidence that β€œlymphatic walking” is better than ordinary walking.

But if focusing on your breathing, posture and arm movement makes your daily walk more enjoyable and intentional, it can be a useful habit.

Sometimes better health starts with something as simple as:

Put on your shoes and walk.

STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY πŸ’ͺ🏾

For years, many people were taught that health meant becoming smaller.

But a healthier question is:

How strong, capable and energetic do I want to feel as I get older?

Strength matters because it supports everyday life.

It helps you:

βœ… Carry groceries
βœ… Climb stairs
βœ… Protect muscle as you age
βœ… Support bone health
βœ… Improve balance and mobility
βœ… Stay independent and physically capable

And you do not need to become a bodybuilder.

Simple strength exercises can include:

πŸ‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Squats
πŸ‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Resistance-band exercises
πŸ‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Dumbbell movements
πŸ‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Wall push-ups
πŸ‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Lunges or supported sit-to-stands

Start at a level that is appropriate for you and gradually build from there.

Your goal does not have to be:

β€œI want to weigh less.”

It can also be:

β€œI want to feel stronger.”

β€œI want more energy.”

β€œI want to protect my mobility.”

β€œI want my body to serve me well for many years.”

That is a powerful health goal.

PROTEINMAXXING IS TRENDING β€” BUT MORE PROTEIN ISN’T ALWAYS BETTER πŸ’ͺ🏾

Protein is everywhere right now.

Protein coffee.
Protein cereal.
Protein bars.
Protein desserts.
Protein shakes.

And social media is encouraging people to push their protein intake higher and higher.

Protein is important.

It helps support:

βœ… Muscle maintenance
βœ… Recovery
βœ… Healthy ageing
βœ… Normal body function
βœ… Satiety as part of a balanced meal

But here is what often gets lost online:

You do not need to turn every food you eat into a β€œhigh-protein” product.

For most people, the smarter goal is to get enough protein from a balanced variety of foods.

Think:

πŸ₯š Eggs
🐟 Fish
πŸ— Lean poultry
🫘 Beans and lentils
πŸ₯› Yogurt or quark
🌱 Tofu and soy foods
πŸ₯œ Nuts and seeds

And remember β€” protein is only one part of your diet.

Your body still needs vegetables, fruit, fibre-rich carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and adequate fluids.

If you exercise heavily, are older, are losing weight or have certain health needs, your protein requirements may be different.

So instead of asking:

β€œHow much protein can I possibly eat?”

Ask:

β€œAm I getting enough protein while still eating a balanced diet?”

πŸ’š SAVE this post if you are trying to improve your nutrition.

πŸ’š SHARE it with someone who thinks every meal needs a protein shake.
