I have always believed in the 80/20 rule. When you go on a diet or start to count calories you are creating restriction in your mind that you will naturally try to break away from no matter how hard you try.

By eating in a way that you listen to the needs of your body and allow yourself treats and to enjoy them every now and then, you remove the restriction and make the process a lot more joyful.

Correcting a physiological imbalance is not only about nutrition. Yes, the right nutrition strategy is a huge part of recovery but to avoid relapse, recovery is only possible when a holistic approach is taken.

This means working within a team. Mental health, training adjustments, physical check ups and relationship support outside of the sport are all important factors.
