DTP # 56 - Kernspinn

We’re bidding farewell to summer with a mix by Kernspinn from Offenbach am Main.
For people in the Frankfurt area, she should be a familiar name, whether through her own parties
“Schuld und Synthie” and VOID or as a regular at Sexpol.
Deeply rooted in ’80s synth-pop and post-punk, she’s one of our top picks when it comes to minimal synth and wave. Check out her Mixcloud page to listen for yourself: www.mixcloud.com/kernspinn1/

In this mix, she moves between eras and boundaries, held together by a dark and alienating underlying mood that resonates profoundly with us. Enjoy.

DTP #55 - Signal 72

The next mix—slow and heavy as a steamroller—comes from Signal 72. Hailing from Boston, his productions range from dark electro to dark New Beat to left-field EBM-influenced electronics. Releases include works on Zodiac Commune Records, Nach Der Stille Records, and Connectome Records, as well as a whole bunch of self released tracks all worth checking out.
Centered around 99 bpm, his mix burrows deeper and deeper into a tapestry of chuggy drums, cold arpeggios, and haunting basslines between San Francisco, Vienna, and Düsseldorf for your listening pleasure.
Off we go.

DTP #54 - Motivo Moderno

Here's the next mix, this time straight from the concrete hotspot known as Athens, compiled by Motivo Moderno.
Known for his sinister productions on Gravitational Waves, the vinyl mix he made for us follows the same vein: dark and slow, haunting and gritty electronics for a world burning down. Have fun with the ride.

DTP # 53 – Die Klinge

It features a vinyl selection full of minimalistic wave, gnarling EBM and premium electro - drawing on his influences from around the world as well as very local, timeless gems.

DTP #52 - Lazercat & Naks

If you want to know what the musical finale of our last party sounded like, we highly recommend this recording.
Our friends Lazercat and Naks let loose with their unmistakable approach on electro. Fast-paced, hard hitting, motor city fueled, no holds barred.
Hailing from Berlin, they are a cornerstone of the scene for years, far beyond the city limits. Whether it’s their past parties, their Dreams of Neon radio show on Intergalactic FM, or the Vortex Traks label. Electro for the heads.
As we were on the dance floor, we looked at each other with a smile, and we both knew: that’s exactly why we do this.
Thank you Deepa and Arto.

DTP #51 Ester

With the start of spring comes a new mix, specially prepared by Ester.
Based in Prague, she has been shaking up the local scene for years, whether as a versatile DJ or as a promoter of various parties and listening sessions.

From electronic body music to slow and heavy oddities, from post-punk to dark ambient soundscapes. Her musical repertoire knows no boundaries or fears.
For this mix she delves deep into her magic box of wave in its various forms and from different decades to take you on a melancholic and sometimes dark adventure.
Buon viaggio.

DTP #50 - Nizvidky

New year, new mix. And already the 50th in our series!
We are delighted that Nizvidky is taking this spot with a dark banger. We met her at a party organized by the Somepeople collective, the lynchpin of electronic music in Kharkiv. She plays there regularly and is thus involved in shaping and preserving the city under harsh conditions. A bravery we honor with all our hearts.

Her mix opens a door to the darker and more menacing realms of electro of recent years. Crystal-clear synths meet dark vocals, sinister basslines meet heavy kicks and drums. Analog hardware meets robotics.
Enjoy.
