*THE REALITY OF CHRISTIANITY*

*Thursday, October 15th*
*Pastor Chris*

_*But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).*_

In our previous study, we reviewed what it means to give your life to Christ. It means much more than merely "surrendering" your life to God. This understanding is important because many people still interpret salvation as the act of “surrendering” themselves to God. But Christianity is far more than that.

When a woman gets married, she doesn't merely surrender herself to her husband. She identifies with him. She comes into his home, takes his name, and becomes one with him. In much the same way, when you gave your life to Christ, you were brought into union with Him. You became a partaker of His life.

This is why the Bible says, _*“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit”*_ (1 Corinthians 6:17). It’s for the same reason it tells us we’re associates of the Godkind: _*“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature...”*_ (2 Peter 1:4).

Don’t view Christianity through the lens of religion. The Lord Jesus didn't come merely to improve your conduct or introduce you to a new religious system. He came to give us the God-life. God's own nature has been imparted to your spirit. This is the essence of the New Birth and beauty of the Gospel. The divine life has supplanted the human life.

You've become one with the Lord in a living and inseparable relationship. His victory is your victory. His righteousness is your righteousness. His life is now your life. Walk in the consciousness of this divine union. You're not “following” Christ from a distance; you're in Him, and He is in you. That's the reality of Christianity.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for the divine life you've imparted to my spirit and my inseparable union with you through Christ. I walk in the consciousness of this union, manifesting the life, wisdom, righteousness, and glory of Christ to my world, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

WHAT IT MEANS TO GIVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST

Wednesday, October 14th

Pastor Chris

And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark... (Genesis 7:1).

I once watched a television interview where the guest, a renowned preacher, was asked a simple question: What exactly does it mean to give your life to Christ? I expected he would be asked the question because throughout the interview, he made several references to “giving your life to Christ.” His response was that giving your life to Christ meant allowing God to rule your life, and then starting to read the Bible. That moment highlighted something important: many who use the expression “give your life to Christ” may not truly understand what it means. But this is too important a subject to leave undefined because it relates to the very heart of the Gospel.

To give your life to Christ doesn't merely mean deciding to live differently or turning over a new leaf. It means identifying your life with His life. It means placing your life into His hands and receiving the salvation He accomplished for you. Jesus Christ, by your confession and affirmation becomes Lord of your life; you acknowledging that His death, burial, and resurrection were for your sake.

A beautiful picture of this is found in Noah's ark. In the days of Noah, safety wasn't found outside the ark; salvation was in the ark. Everyone who entered the ark was preserved from destruction. In the same way, Christ is God's Ark of salvation. When you give your life to Him, you enter into Him. You come into the place of safety, deliverance, and eternal life that God has provided through Jesus Christ.

This is why salvation is not merely adopting a religion or subscribing to a set of beliefs. It's entering into Christ. The Bible says, _*“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature...”*_ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Notice the expression “in Christ.” That's the reality of salvation. You've been brought into Him by the new birth.

You're not struggling to save yourself or trying to earn God's acceptance. You've been brought into Christ, and in Him you have righteousness, peace, protection and eternal life. This is the blessing and security of everyone who’s given their lives to Christ.

Dear Father, thank you for your grace that has brought salvation to all men through Jesus Christ. I rejoice that I've been brought into Christ and made one with Him. I live in the security, righteousness, and eternal life that you've provided through Him. Thank you for making me a new creation and establishing me in your grace forever, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

*UNDERSTAND WHO IS BEING ADDRESSED*

*Tuesday, October 13th*
*Pastor Chris*

_*Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law... (Romans 3:19).*_

One of the most important principles for understanding the Scriptures is recognising contexts and target audience. Some become confused in their study of God's Word when they read verses without considering their actual context, audience, and purpose.

Not everything written in Scripture applies to the new creation. The Apostle Paul demonstrated this clearly in Romans chapter three. After quoting several passages that described the condition of those under the Law, he made a remarkable statement: _*“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law...”*_ (Romans 3:19).

Did you notice that? The Law spoke to those who were under its jurisdiction. Paul wanted this understanding to be clearly established, and it’s vital because many have read the declaration, _*“...There is none righteous, no, not one”*_ (Romans 3:10), and assumed it applies equally to everyone today, including those who are born again. But Paul wasn't describing the new creation in Christ. He was presenting the Law's verdict on those who lived under the old covenant. The context makes this unmistakably clear.

When you understand who is being addressed, the Scriptures become clearer and more meaningful. You learn to distinguish between the Law and grace, between the Old Testament and the New Testament, and between what was spoken concerning man's condition apart from Christ and what is true of those who are now in Christ. This prevents confusion and helps you to rightly comprehend and apprehend God's truth.

The Bible is a progressive unveiling of God's redemptive plan. Therefore, it's important to follow the flow of revelation in the Scriptures. Don't isolate a verse from its context and build your understanding around it. Study the whole counsel of God and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. The Bible says, _*“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”*_ (2 Timothy 2:15).

As a child of God, always study and receive the Word in the light of your identity in Christ and the realities of the new creation. That's how God's Word produces faith, confidence and victories in your life.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for the light of your Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit who guides me into all truth. As I study the Scriptures, I receive understanding and insight into mysteries and realities of the Kingdom. I rightly comprehend, apprehend, and apply your Word, and I walk in the blessings, liberty and righteousness that belong to me in Christ Jesus. Amen.*

*RIGHTEOUSNESS APART FROM THE LAW*

*Sunday, October 11th*
*Pastor Chris*

_*But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets (Romans 3:21).*_

Many have read Paul's words in Romans chapter three and concluded that no one can be righteous before God. They quote what’s written in the 10th verse, _*“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one,”*_ and assume that's God's present description of all men. But if you carefully follow Paul's argument, you'll discover that he wasn't addressing those in Christ. He was speaking to those who were under the Law.

The Jews believed they had an advantage because they had the Law, while the Gentiles were regarded as outsiders, estranged from the covenants of promise. But Paul argued that having the Law didn't make anyone righteous. If righteousness came through the Law, then every requirement of the Law had to be fulfilled perfectly. Yet, the very Law they trusted testified against them. It declared, “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Psalm 14:3).

Paul quoted the Law extensively and then drew a powerful conclusion: _*“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law...”*_ (Romans 3:19). The Law exposed sin and rendered the whole world guilty before God, as Paul further explained, _*“…by the law is the knowledge of sin”*_ (Romans 3:20).

The Law revealed man's condition, his sin-nature, but it couldn't produce righteousness. Then came the new order, one of the most glorious transitions in Scripture: the revelation of God’s righteousness apart from the Law as read in our opening scripture. This righteousness isn't earned by works or by keeping the requirements of the Law. It's God's own righteousness, revealed and bestowed through faith in Jesus Christ.

Now that you’re born again, you've been justified freely by His grace. You're not struggling to become righteous. The righteousness that the Law could never produce has been imparted to you as a gift through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). He’s been made your righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). Blessed be God! Therefore, see yourself as God sees you: holy, accepted, sanctified, and justified in Christ Jesus.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for revealing your righteousness through Jesus Christ, making Him to be sin for us that we might be made righteous. I walk in the consciousness of my justification and oneness with you. I live victoriously today, free from condemnation and fully established in your righteousness, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*

THE GENIUS OF CHRISTIANITY

Saturday, October 10th
Chris

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

What sets Christianity apart from every religion, philosophy, or system of human effort? What is the secret of its power and uniqueness? The answer is found in one profound truth: Christ in you! Christianity is the unveiling of a divine mystery: God Himself living in the human person through the Holy Spirit. This is the genius of Christianity.

In fact, it's interesting that the word "genius" is of Latin origin and refers to a spirit, a guardian spirit or deity believed to be responsible for someone's life from birth. Various cultures have had similar concepts. Among the Igbo people of Nigeria, for example, there's the idea of "Chi," one’s guardian angel or guardian spirit.

But Christianity presents something far greater. The Holy Spirit is the divine personality, the divine guardian and presence responsible for your life. The beautiful thing is that He doesn't guide you from a distance; He lives in you. Glory to God! Think about that. The One who is responsible for guiding, helping, strengthening, teaching, and leading you in God's purpose has made His home in your spirit.

You're never left alone to navigate life by your own wisdom, strength, or ability. The Holy Spirit in you guides you to perceive and comprehend the realities of the Kingdom. He knows what you do not know and leads you to walk in and fulfil God's perfect will. This is the extraordinary advantage of the Christian life.

The power, wisdom, grace and presence of God are not external realities you're trying to reach. They are resident within you through the Holy Spirit. He works in you and through you, making you equal to every task and effective in every good work. The wonder of Christianity is not merely that God helps you; it's that the Holy Spirit lives in you and takes personal responsibility for guiding, strengthening and leading you in the fulfilment of God's purpose for your life. What a life He's given us!

Dear Father, thank you for the blessing and reality of Christ in me. I live with the consciousness of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence and ministry in my life. He guides me in wisdom, strengthens me for every task, and leads me to fulfil your perfect will. Your life, power and glory are expressed through me today, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

WHICH COMPANY WOULD YOU RATHER KEEP?

Friday, October 9th

Pastor Chris

,,,,_But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God... To the general assembly and church of the firstborn...(Hebrews 12:22-23)

The people you admire reveal much about the values you cherish. Throughout history, men celebrated warriors, kings, inventors, politicians, entertainers, and other notable figures whose achievements shaped the world around them. Yet, the Scriptures present us with a certain company of people who were praised and celebrated by God because they lived by faith and fulfilled His purpose in their generations.

When you read about Abraham, Moses, Esther, David, Daniel, Paul, and the other heroes of faith, you're not merely reading historical accounts. You're seeing examples of individuals who valued God's purpose above personal ambition and whose lives produced results that extended far beyond this world. They're part of the great cloud of witnesses the Bible talks about (Hebrews 12:1).

These were men and women whose faith, courage, obedience and devotion to God continue to inspire across generations. Their lives remind us that true greatness is not measured by worldly accomplishments but by faithfulness to God's calling. Read about them in Hebrews 11:4-38, and you'll be greatly inspired.

As a child of God, you've been brought into their company; it's a lineage of faith. You've become part of God's family, connected to His eternal purpose. Therefore, let your admiration be directed toward those who exemplify the values of the Kingdom. Learn from their faith. Follow their example.

Choose your influences carefully and cultivate a heart that esteems the things God esteems. When you identify with those who live for His purpose, they'll inspire you to pursue the things that truly matter and build a life of lasting significance.

Thank God that in the Scriptures, He gave us a compendium of the inspiring lives of these men and women of faith. He got to the climax and told us about those amongst them who rejected deliverance; they would rather face certain death for the sake of God's purpose and vision than accept deliverance. It's better to be listed among and identified with the great heroes of faith in the Bible than to have all of the greatness that this world could ever offer. Hebrews 13:7 says, "Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation."

Dear Father, thank you for the examples of faith preserved for us in your Word. My heart is set on your purpose, and I value the things that matter to you. I walk in faith, courage and devotion, fulfilling your calling upon my life in glory and righteousness, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, *34* Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the

IT PAYS TO KNOW YOUR PLACE IN TIME

Thursday, October 8th
Chris
..And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14).

Throughout history, there have been moments when God moved in extraordinary ways to accomplish His purpose. In such times, the crucial question isn't merely what God is doing, but whether those He has positioned for that moment recognise their role in it. When the Jewish people faced annihilation in Esther's day, God had already positioned Esther in the palace.

What appeared to be a personal elevation was, in reality, part of a larger divine purpose. Esther understood that her position, influence and opportunity carried a significance greater than herself. Don’t go through life unaware of the opportunities God has placed before you. Never see the events of your life as ordinary and your assignments as routine.

God often works through seemingly ordinary situations to accomplish extraordinary things. The difference lies in recognising your place in His unfolding purpose. This is why spiritual discernment is so important. You must learn to recognise the significance of the opportunities, responsibilities and assignments God entrusts to you.

The Lord didn’t place you where you are by accident. Recognise the value of your contribution to His Kingdom and respond with faith and diligence. Know your place in time and participate effectively in what God is doing through His Church in these last days.

I walk in spiritual discernment and recognise the opportunities, responsibilities and assignments God has given me to fulfil my role faithfully and effectively in the ministry of the Gospel. The Gospel is advancing through me, and the Name of Jesus is known and magnified in all the earth. Amen.

*THINK BEYOND THIS WORLD*

Wednesday, October 7th
Pastor Chris

*....._While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal_ *(2 Corinthians 4:18).*

One of the most important lessons in the Christian life is learning to see beyond the present world and its temporary concerns. Many of the decisions people make are based entirely on what benefits them now, what feels convenient today, or what appears advantageous in the moment. But God's perspective is different. He evaluates everything in the light of eternity.

This is one reason God's instructions often seem unusual to the natural mind. He sees what lies beyond the present. He knows the eternal significance of our choices and understands the glory that awaits those who walk in His will. While human reasoning is often preoccupied with immediate outcomes, God's wisdom is focused on realities that endure forever.

His Kingdom that we’re a part of, is a spiritual and everlasting Kingdom. He’s given us an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading. This means your life is connected to something far greater than the fleeting systems, structures and pursuits of this world. You're called to live and see from an eternal perspective.

When you understand this, your priorities become clearer. You recognise the value of serving the Lord, advancing the Gospel, and investing your time, resources, and energies in things that produce eternal fruits. You realise that the greatest opportunities in life are not necessarily those that bring the most immediate rewards but those that align with God's purpose and contribute to His eternal plan.

Refuse to evaluate your life merely by earthly gains, temporary comforts, or momentary advantages. The world and its systems will pass away, but God's Kingdom is forever. Therefore, think beyond this world. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. So, let eternity shape your priorities, your decisions and your pursuits. When you do, you'll live with purpose and the confidence that your labour in the Lord is never in vain.
*PRAYER*

*Righteous Father, I thank you for giving me an eternal inheritance in Christ and teaching me to see life from your divine perspective. I walk in wisdom and make decisions that align with your purpose and your eternal Kingdom. My heart is set on you to fulfil your divine purpose and establish your righteousness in the earth, in Jesus' Name. Amen*.

*IT'S ALWAYS IN YOUR INTEREST*

*Tuesday, October 6th*
*Pastor Chris*

_*For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son... (John 3:16).*_

One of the greatest truths to understand in your walk with God is that He never asks anything of you for His benefit. Whenever He instructs, guides, corrects or directs you, it's always in your interest. Everything He does is motivated by His love for you and His desire to bring you into the fullness of His greater blessings and purpose for your life.

Consider what He did through Jesus Christ. He gave His Son for us. Jesus laid down His life, bore our sins, and rose triumphantly from the dead to bring us into fellowship with the Father. Yet His love didn't stop there. Having been exalted to the place of supreme authority and glory, He chose to share that inheritance with us. The Bible says we're _*"...heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ..."*_ (Romans 8:17).

Think about it: The One who possesses all things didn't simply bless us from His abundance; He brought us into joint ownership. This helps us understand God's dealings with us. Never view or relate with His instructions through the lens of loss or sacrifice. Rather, see them as expressions of His love and wisdom.

Trust His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your life, knowing that He has your highest good at heart. He loves you more than you love yourself. He’s more passionate about your success than you could ever be. The God who gave His Son for you and made you a joint-heir with Christ will never lead you into anything that isn't ultimately in your best interest.

*PRAYER*

*Dear Father, thank you for your immeasurable love and goodness toward me. I trust your wisdom and your guidance, knowing that every instruction you give is motivated by your love and designed for my benefit. My heart is yielded to you, and I walk confidently in your perfect will, with full assurance that your plans for me are excellent and designed for my blessing, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*
