These high-volume endoscopy centers provide fellows — many from underserved regions — with the opportunity to gain advanced, practical experience in specialist units.

We’re pleased to share that the Meeting Abstracts of the WEO Capsule Endoscopy Global Summit (WEO-CEGS 2026) have been published in Mini-invasive Surgery! 🎉

WEO-CEGS 2026 took place on March 21, 2026 and brought together experts from around the world to discuss the latest developments in capsule endoscopy.

The collection includes 27 abstracts covering topics such as:

🟢 Artificial intelligence in capsule endoscopy

🟢 Magnetic-guided capsules

🟢 Small-bowel, colon, and upper GI capsule endoscopy

🟢 Gastrointestinal bleeding, Crohn’s disease, portal hypertension, and malabsorption

🟢 Bowel preparation and real-world clinical experience

🟢 New and emerging capsule technologies, and more

The abstracts were edited and reviewed by Drs. Lars Aabakken, Shutian Zhang, Enqiang Linghu, and Jean-François Rey.
