Meet the visionary behind Boost Fertility — Daniel G. Wilson, CEO & Co-founder.
Daniel G. Wilson has been part of 3 unicorns. He helped build the world’s first Windows side-counter banking software — acquired by IBM.
He oversaw the documentation and training departments for the world’s first enterprise HR software for the web — acquired by Concur.
Most recently, he worked at GetYourGuide – one of Germany’s hottest unicorns.
But Boost Fertility is different. And the reason is deeply personal.
When Daniel and Dr. Marion were thinking about starting a family, they saw firsthand how out of reach fertility treatments were for most couples — and they decided to do something about it.
Dr. Marion Vollmer was already working on a s***m separation device at the University of Toronto, which could be used for IUI or IVF. So, Daniel asked a simple question: “Could we sell an IUI-like treatment for infertility at a very low price?” That one conversation became the founding moment of Boost Fertility.
Today, Daniel’s mission is clear:
“Give millions of couples all over the world a fighting chance to have a baby — no matter how much money they have.”
One of his boldest bets? Bringing in Patrick Welsh as CRO and giving him a significant stake in the company. People questioned it. But Patrick quickly raised $1M when the company valuation was $5M at best — and has since helped drive the valuation toward $100M. That’s 20X growth in just 3 years. Patrick also brought in COO David Wischerath, who is now an essential member of the team.
Daniel will tell you that the other unicorns were great companies, but he thinks Boost Fertility could be even better someday because Boost puts people first – starting with the infertile people who will be our customers.
He is sure that this fanatical focus on the customer is the key to creating a truly great company.
Ironically, Daniel had chosen not to have kids for 20 years until he met Marion, at which point he did a complete 180-degree turnaround, and he is today the biggest advocate around for having kids and starting a family. Because his three kids gave him hope for the future. Now he wants to give that same hope to millions of couples all over the world.
That’s not just a business mission. That’s a life mission.
Welcome to Boost Fertility!!
