Every year, approximately 300,000 people worldwide are diagnosed with brain tumors. 🧠

Treatment usually begins with surgery, followed by radiation therapy. With ZEISS INTRABEAM, radiation therapy can start immediately during surgery, which shortens the duration of treatment.

This May, as part of , we remain committed to advancing treatment solutions that make a difference for patients.

89% of all orthopedic implants are produced by companies using ZEISS technology. But what does AI have to do with this? 🩼

Measuring prostheses coatings thickness once required trained experts and lots of manual work. With a light microscope from ZEISS and AI-assisted image segmentation, now analysis can be completed significantly faster.

With this key technology, ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions makes a decisive contribution to quality assurance for implants and improves people's quality of life.

Inspiring young people for science with interactive experiments. 💙

Together with ZEISS volunteers, children and teenagers explored how microchips look under the microscope. Getting hands-on, the young participants playfully recreated the fine microchip structures and discovered how light behaves, from refraction to reflection of their mirror image. 🔎

With our global “A Heart for Science” initiative, the curiosity for science is passed on to the next generation by employees who share their knowledge and make complex topics tangible.

What do microchips, medical diagnostics, and your glasses have in common? Light. 💡️

On May 16, we celebrate the International Day of Light – a UNESCO initiative honoring the role of light in science, culture, and everyday life. The first laser was demonstrated on that day and changed the world forever.

At ZEISS, light is at the heart of everything we do. From microchips to microscopes, from medical technology to vision care – photonics shapes our world in countless ways. According to UNESCO and EU initiatives, photonics is considered a key enabling technology for sustainable development, digital infrastructure and modern industry.

Can you imagine a world without light? Neither can we.

A remarkable discovery for the quest for earth-like worlds. 🌎🪐

Kepler-10b, discovered in 2011, is the first confirmed rocky planet outside our solar system. It orbits its host star Kepler-10 in an extremely close orbit and is bound in its rotation. In the module created with ZEISS UNIVIEW™, Kepler-10b is visualized as a “hot eyeball” planet. The typical appearance is caused by the fact that one side of the planet is constantly facing the star (tidal locking) and only this side is heated by the star.

ZEISS Planetariums has been working in the field of modern planetariums for years, bringing the cosmos to life through various visualizations.

Our climate targets are now validated. 🌱🔬

They have been assessed against recognized scientific criteria and are aligned with a 1.5 °C pathway or the well-below -2 °C goal.

A key milestone on our journey toward measurable and effective climate action.
