Say hi to Paul👋

Paul first joined aroma:id as an Industrial Design Intern.
He quickly became part of the team and is now continuing with us as a working student alongside his studies.

We asked Paul to look back on his internship and share what he took away:

“My internship at aroma:id was a valuable addition to my Master’s studies, giving me the opportunity to apply and deepen my knowledge in a professional environment. Working on projects across different fields, including lifestyle products, brand experience and medical technology, allowed me to be involved in a variety of design processes and gain a better understanding of collaboration between designers and clients. I’m really happy to continue supporting the team, take on new challenges and keep developing as a designer.”

We’re glad to have you with us, Paul! 😊

A product takes shape through hundreds of small decisions. Surface transitions, grip and controls, all contribute to its character, function and overall experience.

The smallest details often reveal the biggest design decisions.

We are excited to welcome to our studio Lesley Flores, Ralf Tanzer and Thorben Huthmann from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for a six-week summer school project. ☀️🎓

Together with one of our industry partners, they will work on a real design and engineering challenge and take responsibility for the entire process, from the initial brief to the final presentation. They will begin by translating the brief into project and technical requirements. After six weeks of development, they will present their concepts and share the key findings from their work.

The summer school project gives the students the opportunity to experience a professional design and development process while working directly with an industry partner.

At aroma:id, we are always happy to welcome young talents and fresh perspectives into our studio. We want to provide a space where students can test their ideas and gain practical experience. 🧩💡✏️

A personal note from us.

It should feel self-evident that everyone is free to be who they are and welcomed just as they are. Thankfully, that is usually the case. Yet we are reminded that acceptance is never something we should simply take for granted. It lives in the way we treat one another every day.

Earlier this week, several people asked one of our colleagues how they were doing right now? It was a simple question, but one that opened up an important conversation within our team about the way we look out for one another and the kind of social environment we want to create together.

We would like to emphasise something that we consider a matter of course: everyone is welcome at aroma:id, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or social background. We believe that different perspectives and experiences enrich not only our work, but also the way we understand the world around us.

Staying in dialogue does not mean that we always have to agree. It means listening with respect, making room for experiences different from our own and choosing connection over distance.

Social cohesion does not begin somewhere far away. It begins in our everyday encounters: in how we speak to one another, how we listen and how we stand together.

A coherent product family is built through shared proportions, recognizable form elements and a consistent industrial design language. With the trinamiX PAL Two, a handheld NIR spectroscopy device and the trinamiX PAL Two Rotator, aroma:id designed two complementary products for rapid on-site nutritional feed analysis. 🌾🌽

Together, both products create a consistent design language for professional NIR spectroscopy applications.

Are you already preparing for the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge next week? 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

For this year’s run, our colleague Francesca illustrated our T-shirt artwork. We are happy to run together with this year, our new office mates who moved into our studio at the end of last year. We want to celebrate that, because together we are stronger. 🐙🩵

We are exited for next week and hopefully have some good running weather ☀️🌈

Precision in every detail we create

Often, the small details are what determine the quality of a design. A well executed surface transition or the radius of a graphic can change the perception and use of a product.

At aroma:id, we pay close attention to these moments, because precision in the details ultimately shapes the overall design.
