Man weiß, dass er kommt. Man hat ihn (eigentlich) eingeplant. Und trotzdem trifft er einen jedes Semester aufs Neue: Der Semesterbeitrag.🫪

80 € davon heißen Studierendenwerksbeitrag und fließen in Angebote, die Studierende im Alltag unterstützen. Aber wofür eigentlich genau? Er finanziert nicht einfach einzelne Leistungen, sondern folgt einem solidarischen Prinzip: Alle Studierenden tragen gemeinsam dazu bei, dass soziale Angebote möglich werden, die entlasten, unterstützen und damit Chancengleichheit im Studium fördern. Welche das genau sind, siehst du in den Slides.😉

Manches davon nutzt du vielleicht regelmäßig, anderes vielleicht nie. Trotzdem sorgen die 80 € dafür, dass sie für alle Studierenden da sind, wenn sie gebraucht werden. Mehr Infos zum Studierendenwerksbeitrag findest du in unserer Beitragsordnung auf unserer Webseite.

You know it's coming. You've (technically) budgeted for it. And yet it still catches you off guard every semester: the semester fee.🫪

€80 of that is a contribution to the Studierendenwerk, which goes toward services that support students in everyday life. But what exactly does it fund? It doesn't simply pay for individual services. It follows a principle of solidarity: all students contribute together to make social services possible that provide relief, support, and promote equal opportunities in studying. You can see exactly what these are in the slides.😉

You might use some of these regularly, others maybe never. Either way, the €80 ensures they're there for all students whenever they're needed. You can find more information on the Studierendenwerksbeitrag in our fee regulations on our website.

Viele denken beim Thema BAföG direkt an riesige Schuldenberge. Genau diese Sorge hält viele davon ab, überhaupt einen Antrag zu stellen. Aber Spoiler: Die BAföG-Rückzahlung funktioniert anders, als viele denken.☝️

Weiter geht’s mit unserer Reihe „This is how I werk“, in der wir die vielen Menschen und Aufgabenfelder aus dem Studierendenwerk ganz ohne Gesichter vorstellen. Stattdessen zeigen wir ihren Arbeitsplatz und erzählen so ihre Story.

Name: Maik

Job: Hausmeister in der Forststraße

Über mich: Seit 11 Jahren bin ich Teil des Studierendenwerks und sorge dafür, dass in unseren Wohnheimen alles rund läuft. Angefangen habe ich in der Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße, heute bin ich als Hausmeister in der Forststraße unterwegs.🏘️

Mein Arbeitsalltag ist vielseitig: Ich kümmere mich darum, dass im Objekt alles funktioniert und sich alle darin wohlfühlen können, pflege unsere Außenanlagen, begleite Reparaturen und behalte den Überblick, wenn es um die Ausstattung, Übergabe und Abnahme der Zimmer geht. Kurz gesagt: Es gibt immer etwas zu tun!🧑‍🔧

Am wichtigsten ist für mich aber der Kontakt zu den Studierenden. Als Ansprechpartner vor Ort bin ich da, wenn Hilfe gebraucht wird, egal ob es um eine kleine Reparatur oder eine Frage zum Leben im Wohnheim geht.😉
